**ROLE SUMMARY**

Support the Site Ergonomic program providing leadership to assure ergonomics improvements are included in new and existing designs in the manufacturing of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients, in Drug Product Packaging and filling lines (Both Aseptic and Non Aseptic), Engineering, Maintenance and Warehouse environments.



**ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES**



+ Develop Site Ergonomics program while serving as a member of the Site's Environmental, Health, and Safety Department.

+ Works independently to assess ergonomic problems and propose solutions within the Kalamazoo PGS Site, present recommendations for correction of cumulative trauma disorders (CTD's) and other safety related injury reduction efforts.

+ Works independently in conducting, detailed ergonomic and other safety related injuries analyses by collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data for the purposes of trending and developing tactical plans for continuous improvement.

+ Identifies new trends to assure the ergonomics and occupational safety strategies are evergreen.

+ Develops and implements proactive administrative programs to prevent cumulative trauma disorders.

+ Works closely with other EHS, Occupational Health & Wellness, Engineering professionals, Supervision and the general workforce to address ergonomic related matters;

+ Successfully uses recognized system analysis tools to perform risk assessments, investigations, program auditing that result in implementing improvements.



**BASIC QUALIFICATIONS**



+ Bachelor's Degree in Industrial, Mechanical Engineering, Occupational Safety with formal education in Ergonomics and Human Factor and 4 years of experience in ergonomics OR Master Degree in Ergonomics and/or Human Factor with 2 years of experience in ergonomics.

+ Experience in hand-on assessing risks, developing and implementing proactive strategies to minimize ergonomic related incidents and process deviations. Documenting such information for the purposes of informing others of risk factors and resolutions.

+ Experience in developing and implementing HS programs to meet MIOSHA- General Industry Safety, Health, and Pfizer Standards.

+ Initiative, leadership, excellent organizational, planning skills are required.

+ Excellent written and communication skills.

+ Experience in conducting incident investigations.

+ Competency in MS Office (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project Management and MS Power Point).

+ Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.



**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**



+ Experience in Project Management and Lean Concepts are desirable.



**PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS**



+ Must be able to perform field observations which could involve walking or standing on uneven terrain, squatting, bending, twisting, turning, and reaching above shoulder height and work in various climates from extreme cold to heat.

+ Able to lift and carry minimum 25 lbs. occasionally

+ Able to stand or walk for periods of 8 hours or more

+ Able to meet deadlines, both internally and externally



**NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS**

Candidates are expected to be on call. The position at times will require working varying shifts in order to support the needs of the EHS organization.
