This position will execute and support automation and continuous improvement projects focused on integration of process / plant automation systems integration for improved operational efficiency.

 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Automation / Continuous Improvement Project Management focused on integration of plant automation systems into centralized Plant Information System (BMS).  Support of lean project initiatives, OEE implementation etc.
  • Automation Systems and BMS Systems Administration (Programming, Processor Upgrades, Controls Issues, Database Backup)
  • PLC/HMI programming for smaller scale projects and control system upgrades
  • Reviewing and auditing the automation design and procurement by controls integration firms.
  • Develop / Review electrical drawings of control panels and schematics.
  • Develop / Review automation user and functional requirements and detailed design documentation.
  • Develop Tags, I/O listings and instrument indexes for automation systems.
  • Loop tuning, process controls performance improvement.
  • Equipment Qualification Support for control systems testing.

Education Required:

  • Bachelor of Science degree

 

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 Years experience required
  • Understanding of Process Controls and Systems Integration preferably associated with solid oral dose / packaging equipment (Fluid Bed Dryers, Coating Pans, Tablet Presses, High Speed Filling Lines)

 

Specialized or Technical Knowledge, Licenses, Certifications:

  • Independent, motivated individual with ability to deliver on and manage multiple projects
  • Experience with Allen Bradley PLCs and Wonderware InTouch software. (Control Logix, SLC/PLC5 RSLogix5/500, Industrial Application Server).
  • Ladder Logic Programming, High Level Language such as Visual Basic, Strong Computer Proficiency, Excel and Microsoft Word.
  • Basic knowledge of TCP/IP and control networks (Ethernet IP, DH+, DeviceNet etc.) and database experience (Microsoft SQL Server, Industrial SQL) required

 

Physical Demand Requirement:

  • Ability to use a PC
  • Sitting, standing, walking in an industrial environment and light lifting
  • Ability to work in an office environment
