Job Description

PepsiCo is establishing a Data Governance program that will be the custodian of the processes, policies, rules and standards by which the Company will define its most critical data. Enabling this program will:

Define ownership and accountability of our critical data assets to ensure they are effectively managed and maintain integrity throughout
PepsiCos systems
Leverage data as a strategic enterprise asset enabling data-based decision analytics
Improve productivity and efficiency of daily business operations

Position Overview:

The role will help guide and champion of PepsiCos data governance program. Initially, this will entail helping create and implement an enterprise-wide data governance program and its related processes utilizing leading practices. Ongoing management of this program will be crucial to ensure the consistent and effective execution of data governance management principles and standards across all of PepsiCo's enterprise and analytical systems and data domains.

This position is responsible for supporting the planning, alignment and execution of Enterprise Data Governance Programs projects and activities.

This person works as project lead or directly with overall project leaders, global and regional teams, projects team, functional teams, master data management team, regulatory and quality teams, as well as business partners to ensure strong working relationships and processes, resulting in the achievement of stated final project objectives.

Program Definition and Execution:

  • Responsible for shaping the program definition and execution.
  • Support turning strategies into program/project plans; including scope management, stakeholder management, deliverables (KPIs), schedule, budget management, risk management and resource requirements.
  • Design and maintain and build a robust Portfolio and Project Management tool/tracker for all projects/initiatives in-flight and planned involving data governance
  • Design and maintain knowledge management (external/internal-facing) of artefacts/assets of the Enterprise Data Governance Team
  • Design and maintain a Data Governance Tool that shows domain maturity via heatmap view
Data Governance Education/Literacy:
  • Support designing/creating a Governance Education Program to help others understand the importance and steps to successful data governance in business language.
  • Partner with leaders understands critical data governance concepts (e.g. reusable asset, source system, operational layer, master data, etc.).
  • Create a slide library for quick access to key governance concepts/illustrations.
  • Create videos (e.g. VideoScribe) to help explain data governance concepts in an engaging way.
  • Partner with the PepsiCos Corporate Learning Team (PepU) to integrate content into Degreed.
Project Support:
  • Build project teams, construct the Project Plans (Gantts), and execute of all activities required for change implementation.
  • Create/maintain the project documentation that will be used throughout the change lifecycle ensuring change is controlled and aligned with strategy and business objectives.
Program Governance & Performance:
  • Support the development of the program governance model and communication plan.
  • Drive continuous improvement of the program and seek regular feedback from leadership and stakeholders to transparently report out on program performance and business partner satisfaction.
  • Help quantify the benefit to business partners and ensure results are aligned, known with P&L translation.
  • Build meaningful dashboards that show Domain Heatmaps and business outcomes.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Knowledge of Supply Chain/Operations and Commercial Data
  • Knowledge of various ERPs/systems
Competencies:
  • 2-3 years of experience within their current or similar role(s)
  • 2-3 years of experience in data project management experience involving governance/data quality remediation
  • Data Management and Governance experience within a global CPG (Consumer Packaged Good) company, or related
  • Experience working across the PepsiCo organization, ideally with multi-country or global implementation experience involving data
  • Knowledge of some of the key concepts around master data management, data standards and organizations
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of master data elements and processes per the necessary in-scope data domain (i.e. Customer, Material, Supplier, and Finance)
  • Strong Communication Skills/Able to Persuade/Influence Others at all Organization Levels and the ability to foster lasting partnerships
  • Ability to translate business requirements into critical data dependencies and requirements
