    Description

     

    Reporting to the Environmental and Laundry Manager, Healthcare, and the on-site direct clients, the EVS & Laundry Services Supervisor provides a wide range of high quality health care services at a 210 bed long term care and senior's living facility.  You will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and tactical direction to the on-site Aramark team in the areas of Housekeeping and Laundry Services.

     

    You will be responsible for: delivering "best in class" level of service, building strong and enduring partnerships with our client/s and the community, and creating a culture of customer service and accountability.

     

    Responsibilities:

     

    • Provides leadership to assigned staff demonstrated through strong organizational skills, and proven ability to coach, train, motivate, schedule, instruct, direct and monitor same.
    • Manage schedule and payroll staff of 35
    • Conducts day to day housekeeping business in a professional manner, respecting opinions of staff, listen to concerns, respond accordingly and treat staff, visitors and patients with respect and courtesy.
    • Performs daily rounds initiating contact with clients, staff, etc.
    • Distributes appropriate project documentation, & record.
    • Responds to requests in a timely and follows up on specific concerns identified by Client.
    • Allocates equipment to staff and monitors daily equipment use, cleaning and maintenance.
    • Focus’ on Quality Management to ensure both the standards in the Contract with the Client and Provincial Healthcare
    • Standards on Quality in Alberta are met and maintained.
    • Performs Quality Audits on a daily basis and follow up with associates on areas that require re-auditing.
    • Participates in department safety and infection control programs and will be responsible for maintaining a safe work environment at all times.
    • Conducts regular staff meetings.
    • Identifies supplies that required ordering from suppliers. Monitors proper use and care of supplies and materials
    • Provides hands-on support when short staffed or during times of infectious outbreaks on units where additional precautions may be required.
    • Participates in staff selection process by interviewing candidates as needed, and ensuring that staff receives proper orientation, initial training, and ongoing education.

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma required. Equivalent work experience preferred.
    • One to two years as a housekeeping supervisor in a healthcare environment.
    • Working knowledge of all housekeeping practices and procedures with a strong emphasis on Infection Control, Standard Precautions and Health & Safety.
    • Strong work ethic, intense drive, and initiative for quality and customer service.
    • Ability to communicate effectively in written format through documentation and reports as well as good verbal skills.
    • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills both one-on-one and in group situations. Excellent listening and empathy skills.
    • Ability to function appropriate under stressful conditions.
    • Understanding of budgeting processes and awareness.
    • Excellent administrative and organizational skills and an ability to prioritize.
    • Excellent computer skills using email, excel, and word.
