Sodexo Healthcare is looking for an Executive Chef to join our team at CHI St Joseph Hospital located in Bryan, Texas! CHI St. Joseph Hospital is a growing bed hospital, and the food operation consist of retail cafe, \"at your request\" patient dining and doctors lounge. The Executive Chef will oversee all food production, including Food Management System, food safety, excellent leadership skills and culinary experience.

 

The Executive Chef will report to the General Manager. There are a total of 20 hourly employees at this new account. This position is recognized as the technical expert, teacher and trainer for cooks within the account. Selects and develops recipes and other items for clients. Develops menu, implements and trains HACCP, establishes production levels and inventory controls, interviews and hires new cooks, manages/controls food cost issues and offer solutions. The ideal candidate will be an experienced food service leader who demonstrates an excellent customer focus and exceptional process and systems skills. Previous experience in a health-care environment is a plus.

Position Summary

Provides culinary leadership within a medium sized unit including menu planning, program execution and staff management & training.  Works directly with internal and external clients managing the catering process from beginning through execution.  Key Duties- Implements & coordinates the culinary function.  - Directs & trains cooks & utility workers.- Ensures food preparation & production meets operational standards.- Manages catering & retail areas.- Customer & Client satisfaction.- Financial management to include food cost & labor management.-  Manages food & physical safety programs.

 

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience Basic Management Experience - 2 years Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.Sodexo is an EEO/AA/Minority/Female/Disability/Veteran employer.
