Unit Description

Sodexo is seeking an experienced Executive Chef to join the dynamic team at SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital Audrain in Mexico, Missouri. SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital Audrain is an 89 bed community hospital offering a range of services including emergency care, cardiology services, medical imaging, mens health services, women and child services and diabetes education.  Reporting to our General Manager, the Executive Chef will be responsible for managing the daily food production for the retail caf©, patient dining, Physicians lounge and catering services.

Primary Executive Chef responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • managing the daily food production and menu planning process for the retail cafe, patient dining, catering services,and Doctor's Dining 
  • ensuring Sodexo's Culinary Standards including recipe compliance and food quality
  • controlling food cost and purchasing compliance
  • managing and upholding food safety and sanitation standards in compliance with Sodexo, State and Local Health Department requirements
  • have high expectations for customer service and quality of food
  • ability and willingness to develop and train a team of 15 frontline employees
  • demonstrating a passion for food and innovation
  • experience with Sodexo's  Food Management Systems (FMS) or similar systems

 

 

Position Summary

Provides culinary leadership within a medium sized unit including menu planning, program execution and staff management & training.  Works directly with internal and external clients managing the catering process from beginning through execution.  Key Duties- Implements & coordinates the culinary function.  - Directs & trains cooks & utility workers.- Ensures food preparation & production meets operational standards.- Manages catering & retail areas.- Customer & Client satisfaction.- Financial management to include food cost & labor management.-  Manages food & physical safety programs.

 

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree  Basic Management Experience - 2 years Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.Sodexo is an EEO/AA/Minority/Female/Disability/Veteran employer.
