Sodexo is seeking an Executive Chef 2 for ProMedica Flower Hospital located in Sylvania, OH.

 

ProMedica Flower Hospital is a 311- bed facility that has been serving the greater Toledo, Ohio community for more than 100 years.  We currently are utilizing the AYR (At Your Request Room Service). We have two retail outlets including a Subway Caf© and our cafeteria. This location also provides patient dining for a long term care facility and catering a large conference center on campus.  Responsibilities include overseeing the Nutrition Services Department at the 300 bed hospital along with a 60 bed Alzheimers unit and 12 bed hospice unit. Will manage a team of 65 employees.   Executive Chef 2 must be able to manage multiple outlets and corresponding menus.

 

The ideal candidate is a strong leader with management experience, adaptability, agility, flexibility to be responsible for a team and the ability to support other system locations.

 

It is also the second largest facility in the ProMedica Health System. The campus is home to the Hickman Cancer Center, a level III trauma emergency center and is our regions leader for inpatient adult psychiatric services. We are seeking a highly motivated, and innovative Culinary professionals to lead the food operations for retail, catering and patient dining for multiple locations on campus.

  • manage the daily food production including production planning and controls;
  • ensure Sodexo Culinary Standards including recipe compliance and food quality;
  • manage food costing, controls and compliance;
  • develop menus and manage inventory;
  • have high expectations for customer service and quality of food;
  • have the ability and willingness to develop and train frontline employees;
  • have a passion for food and innovation;
  • have knowledge of special diets and allergens; and
  • knowledge of Sodexo Food Management System (FMS) is preferred.

 

The ideal candidate has:

  • a strong culinary background, with the demonstrated ability to stay current with new culinary trends;
  • excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to maintain the highest of standards and implements company policies;
  • previous experience working in a high volume facility; and
  • strong management skills.

Position Summary

Provides culinary leadership within a medium sized unit including menu planning, program execution and staff management & training.  Works directly with internal and external clients managing the catering process from beginning through execution.  Key Duties- Implements & coordinates the culinary function.  - Directs & trains cooks & utility workers.- Ensures food preparation & production meets operational standards.- Manages catering & retail areas.- Customer & Client satisfaction.- Financial management to include food cost & labor management.-  Manages food & physical safety programs.

 

Qualifications & Requirements
