Sodexo is seeking an experienced Executive Chef to fill a resource role supporting our university accounts.

 

A Sodexo Resource Executive Chef will receive technical and hands on training in our University accounts and will support our University Food Service within Universities Segment. This Resource position is designed to train and prepare the selected culinary candidate to excel as a Sodexo Chef. They will train and learn in a variety of accounts in all aspects of Culinary and Food Management. Travel to various accounts will broaden the experience with the outcome of possible permanent placement in the market.

 

Candidates who are hired into Universities Resource positions and are successful throughout training are expected to apply and compete for a regular Sodexo University positions in the region within 12 months of hire.

 

We are seeking Chef candidates with the following in their culinary \u201ctoolkits\u201d:

  • A strong artistic culinary flair can you impress the President of a university?
  • Knowledge of current culinary trends can you compete with food trends and top chefs?
  • Experience with exhibition cooking can you \u201cthrow down\u201d?
  • Very high-end taste and a sophisticated palette can you translate that into your food?
  • The ability to inspire a kitchen staff can you help others become trend-setting, innovators?
  • Previous experience in high-volume restaurants or casino dining, campus, hospital or corporate accounts Want to make the jump into Universities Food Services?
  • This position requires flexibility in schedule and in travel. After technical training, the Resource manager will be assigned to assist in other accounts as needed to provide coverage for vacations, special projects, startups, etc.

    Position Summary

    Provides culinary leadership within a large sized unit including menu planning, program execution and staff management & training.  Works directly with internal and external clients managing the catering process from beginning through execution.  Key Duties- Implements & coordinates the culinary function.  - Directs & trains cooks & utility workers.- Ensures food preparation & production meets operational standards.- Manages catering & retail areas.- Customer & Client satisfaction.- Financial management to include food cost & labor management.- Manages food & physical safety programs. 

     

    Qualifications & Requirements

    Basic Education Requirement - Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience

    Basic Management Experience - 3 years
