What you need to know:  Successful applicants will be required to provide proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to the commencement of employment. Applicants who wish to apply for a medical, religious accommodation or any other accommodation required under applicable law can do so later in the process (accommodations are not guaranteed and are decided on a case-by-case basis).

$1+ billion mixed-use development projects. Joint ventures, high-value acquisitions, disposition, financings, distressed real estate transactions, workouts and opportunistic investments. Mitigating risks for hotel owners. Our Real Estate team is there for our clients – whether markets are up or down.

We counsel sophisticated and challenging real estate deals for longtime clients such as DWS/RREEF, Monarch Alternative Capital, State Street Global Advisors, Stockbridge Capital Group, Swift Realty Partners, Hackman Capital Partners, Walton Street Capital, and Westbrook Partners, among others.

We advise our real estate clients through market cycles and help them navigate transactional challenges to seize opportunities, including representations in traditional real estate investments, opportunistic opportunities and in connection with distressed debt investments and workouts.

Orrick’s Real Estate group seeks an associate with 2-5 years of experience in real estate to join the team. Successful candidates can be based in any of our U.S. offices, and fully remote arrangements can be discussed. Our Real Estate practice has a strong focus on sophisticated real estate private equity transactions and covers everything from asset acquisitions/dispositions, joint ventures and financings, to development, distressed debt investments and commercial leasing. Our teams in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle, Houston, New York, London, Milan, Düsseldorf and Tokyo combine worldwide coverage with on-the-ground experience and local market knowledge. As one client told Chambers USA 2021, “Orrick is an ideal partner. We rely on their ability to artfully negotiate complicated transactions. They are problem solvers.”

For the seventh year in a row, Orrick is one of Fortune’s 100 Best Companies to Work For, the annual list that recognizes companies with extraordinary workplace cultures.

We bring distinctive quality, diverse teams, and innovation to everything we do. At our core, we value collegiality among our lawyers and strive to make our practices both professionally and personally rewarding. We’ll help you to connect with peers and mentors to ensure you are integrated into our client teams.
