The OptumHealth Behavioral Solutions (OHBS) Program and Network Integrity (PNI) Financial Consultant is responsible for overseeing the financial aspects of PNI activities, including monthly reporting (savings estimates), forecast (both savings and operating cost), project valuation, and will be a key member of capital project development. This position will primarily be responsible to work with the Director of Accountability supporting the PNI HCQAI savings target goals.  This staff member will lead team members and cross business groups to support the savings target goals to identify and validate the opportunities.  In addition, the tracking of the savings and providing the analytics to each opportunity is critical supporting the goals. 


This individual is expected to conduct and manage outcomes of various PNI studies that include analyzing, reviewing, forecasting, trending, and presenting information for operational and business planning. They support short and long term operational/strategic business activities - by developing, enhancing and maintaining financial models. They also develop and implement effective/strategic business solutions through research and analysis of data and business processes.  As well as use multiple data sources to identify internal and industry trends, validate abnormalities and work with others in the PNI or Leadership to assist in launching/completing investigations as necessary.  This role will identify target trends and areas for potential savings.   This position serves as a resource on financial data, fraudulent schemes and analytics development in the PNI for Accountability.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Forecast development
  • Monthly Financial Reporting
  • Model development and project valuation
  • Provide input for planning activities
  • Determines cost of operations through development and implementation of standardized metrics
  • Variance Analysis, including making recommendations to leadership for performance improvement
  • Develop process flows and participate and process improvement
  • Complete analysis on upcoming trends, schemes, or cases.
  • Outline requirements new/existing analytics.
  • Act as a resource for Claims/Case research pertaining to Fraud, Waste and Abuse.
  • Uses pertinent data and facts to identify and solve a range of problems within area of expertise.
  • Use advanced statistical and inferential analysis programs to provide specialized data analysis
  • Selects, recommends and applies appropriate analytic and statistical methodologies and techniques to execute against an analysis plan or research objectives
  • Evaluates new analytics tools and methodologies for possible deployment
  • Solves complex problems and/or conducts moderately complex analyses.
  • Works with minimal guidance; seeks guidance on only the most complex tasks
  • Translates concepts into practice
  • Provides explanations and information to others on difficult issues.
  • Coaches, provides feedback, and guides others
