Sodexo at Atrium Health has an exciting job opportunity for an experienced Food Operations Manager who will provide assistance to the Long Term Care facilities for Atrium Health in the Charlotte, NC area. Atrium Health, formerly Carolinas HealthCare System, is a not for profit hospital network which operates hospitals, freestanding emergency departments, urgent care centers, and medical practices in the American states of North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia. About 90% of the hospitals affiliated with the system are located within 75 miles of Carolinas Medical Center, the system's flagship hospital and headquarters, in Charlotte, North Carolina. The system has over 60,000 employees.

 

The role will support the Atrium Seniors Division and will report to the Client Executive providing oversight of 4 Healthcare Food & Nutrition locations in the Charlotte area. The Operations Manager is the key to operational effectiveness at these units. This position requires a hands on approach in all areas of the operation to ensure all Sodexo, regulatory and client standards are met. The Food Operations Manager will have demonstrated culinary and management experience. The successful candidate will have demonstrated culinary and management experience, knowledge of HACCP principles and strong leadership and communications skills.

Additional Job Responsibilities include:

  • Food cost and inventory controls
  • Responsible for identifying process improvement initiatives and overseeing implementation.
  • Ensures that employees demonstrate an active customer hospitality orientation toward patients, visitors and hospital staff
  • Ensures compliance to food safety, sanitation and overall workplace safety standards.
  • Meets (or exceeds) Sodexo standards of operation
  • Creates a positive environment and successfully motivates and manages team.
  • The Operations manager will be in charge in absence of the General Manager.

The candidate will be required to earn their CDM certification within 90 days of hire

Position Summary

Provides leadership and supervision for the on-site food service exempt and non-exempt level staff in the delivery of our contractual agreement with the client. Provides supervision for food services at account/unit to ensure client satisfaction and retention for the company. Implements business practices in order to uphold company mission, values and commitments made in the Sodexo client contractual agreement.Key Duties- Establishes a safe work environment

- Utilizes Sodexo tools and programs to develop client, customer, and staff relationships,  to ensure account retention

- Implements and fully utilizes all Sodexo tools and programs to ensure financial outcomes

- Directs daily operations of food service to ensure employees have appropriate equipment, inventory and resources, ensures operating standards and regulatory requirements are met

- Develops and implements plans, projects, with defined objectives, methods, timetables and budget to support client and Sodexo strategic plan

- Ensures adherence to all HR standards for Sodexo, client, and  regulatory agencies 

 

 

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experienceBasic Management Experience - 2 years Basic Functional Experience 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
