Sodexo K12 Schools Division is seeking  an experienced Food Operations Manager for a long term partnership located in Milton, FL.  This account serves 29 schools in Santa Rosa County School District.  Services include meals under the National School Lunch Program/Breakfast Program, After School Program, Dinner Program as well as catering services.  The position will oversee day to day food operations for a selection of schools within the 10 million dollar managed volume, in a fast paced environment. 


Our ideal candidate would have previous K-12 experience and be familiar with the USDA regulations for NSLP, NSBP and sumer feeding options. Other qualities would be, proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel), UFS, and Kronos. This is an action filled job were the candidate will be directly involved with the daily operations of their assigned schools, providing leadership and training for the staff as well as ensuring we are exceeding customer and client expectations. Must be able to manage multiple tasks and resolve complex issues simultaneously. 


The successful candidate should posses a proven track record in the areas of operational excellence, innovation, wellness, nutritional management, effective team leadership and compliance with local, state and federal guidelines.  Managing the units safety program, along with training for all employees is a plus.  Interacts with district personnel and customers to maintain a high level of customer service.


The ideal candidate will be a self starter, with stellar communication skills and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.  Experience in managing food service in an educational environment and understanding of the USDA National School Lunch/Breakfast Program is strongly preferred.

The ideal candidates have the following:

  • NSLP management experience.
  • Strong financial acumen, talent management, training, development skills and front-line leadership.
  • A proven track record  and experience with managing client employees
  • Food production, HHFKA, great communication, client relations, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • A strong work ethic, a penchant for developing high performing teams and a solid understanding of HACCP and other food safety programs.

Position Summary

Provides leadership and supervision for the on-site food service exempt and non-exempt level staff in the delivery of our contractual agreement with the client. Provides supervision for food services at account/unit to ensure client satisfaction and retention for the company. Implements business practices in order to uphold company mission, values and commitments made in the Sodexo client contractual agreement.Key Duties- Establishes a safe work environment

- Utilizes Sodexo tools and programs to develop client, customer, and staff relationships,  to ensure account retention

- Implements and fully utilizes all Sodexo tools and programs to ensure financial outcomes

- Directs daily operations of food service to ensure employees have appropriate equipment, inventory and resources, ensures operating standards and regulatory requirements are met

- Develops and implements plans, projects, with defined objectives, methods, timetables and budget to support client and Sodexo strategic plan

- Ensures adherence to all HR standards for Sodexo, client, and  regulatory agencies 



Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experienceBasic Management Experience - 2 yearsBasic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
