Sodexo is seeking a detail oriented **Sustainability Coordinator (Food Operations Manager 3)** for a potential new piece of business,located in beautifulBellingham (https://www.bellingham.org/) , WA. This university is in northwest Washington state, is part of a family friendly, growing small city, rich in food and arts culture. The campus beauty and layout belies its strong connection to the outdoors. As Sustainability Coordinator, you will serve as Sodexos ambassador, role model, expert, and single point of contact on all matters relating to CSR and sustainability initiatives and will be responsible for using this platform to enhance the client relations, the value of our business offers and marketplace reputation. In conjunction with senior management and internal and external resources and constituencies, the Sustainability Coordinator creates, coordinates and/or implements strategies that advance people, planet and profit imperatives.
The successful candidate will establish relationships and systems for benchmarking and tracking current purchasing practices with the ultimate goal of increasing local, community based, and 3 rd party certified food purchases. The Food Service Manager of Sustainability Programs will also help establish short and long term goals, complete annual reporting, and work closely with local food producers and campus community members to raise awareness of local and sustainable food choices.
This position will be responsible for managing the sustainability and wellness programs for this large, high profile University Dining account. **The successful candidate will:**
+ Collaborate with operations teams to develop sustainability programs for the cafeteria and other retail outlets, student dining, and community outreach.
+ Map our Food Service operation to support campus initiatives on Sustainability goals.
+ Assume major role in client sustainability initiatives by managing programs to support the clients commitment to reducing the system-wide carbon footprint as well as moving toward improved sustainability practices at each individual unit.
+ Support and monitor waste using Lean Path.
+ Serve as liaison with campus departments, local producers, Sodexo procurement, and marketing to developing/maintaining sustainability initiatives/goals.
+ Use Sodexo systems and software (Strategic Environmental Site Assessment) and create action plans.
+ Develop programs in alignment with Sodexo and client mission and vision.

**Position Summary**
Provides leadership and supervision for the on-site food service exempt and non-exempt level staff in the delivery of our contractual agreement with the client. Provides supervision for food services at account/unit to ensure client satisfaction and retention for the company. Implements business practices in order to uphold company mission, values and commitments made in the Sodexo client contractual agreement.
Key Duties
- Establishes a safe work environment
- Assumes General Managers (GM) responsibilities and authority in their absence
- Utilizes Sodexo tools and programs to develop client, customer, and staff relationships, to ensure account retention
- Implements and fully utilizes all Sodexo tools and programs to ensure financial outcomes
- Directs daily operations of food service to ensure employees have appropriate equipment, inventory and resources, ensures operating standards and regulatory requirements are met
- Develops and implements plans, projects, with defined objectives, methods, timetables and budget to support client and Sodexo strategic plan
- Ensures adherence to all HR standards for Sodexo, client, and regulatory agencies
**Qualifications & Requirements**
Basic Education Requirement - Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
Basic Management Experience - 3 years
Basic Functional Experience - 3 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
