Unit Description

Sodexo is seeking a Food Production Manager 2 at McLaren St. Lukes.  McLaren St. Lukes is a 314 bed hospital in Maumee, Ohio.  The Food Production Manager 2 will support the day to day operations for the retail caf©, At Your Request (AYR)  patient dining program and catering services.  The ideal candidate will have experience with Sodexo's Food Management System (FMS) or similar systems, a solid knowledge of HACCP standards and the ability to manage a team of 20 team members.  The successful candidate will also possess a solid understanding of food safety and sanitation guidelines, computer literacy as well as excellent leadership, communication and customer service skills.  

 

This Food Production Manager 2 will be responsible for: 

  • constantly improving food service operations in order to drive patient and customer satisfaction 
  • training staff to adhere to auditing procedures and statutory regulations 
  • and being accountable for the execution of product and service quality by maintaining the highest level of food service delivery

 

Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Unit purchases utilizing TMC and client procurement programs
  • Storage area organization
  • Inventory management
  • Waste reduction
  • Working within unit budget
  • Cash handling/management support
  • Training & development of staff
  • Direct customer and client interaction
  • HR functions (recruiting, interviewing, disciplinary)
  • Ensuring quality standards and compliance with HACCP guidelines
  • Supervision of 20 client employees
  • Employee engagement 

 

In this role, you will be also directing and participating in all of daily food operations for their full-service Cafe. Responsibilities will include:  cash handling/management, , scheduling, inventory/ordering, training and development of staff, direct customer interaction and catering. Total Retail volume of approx 200k.

Position Summary

Responsible for inventory management and procurement of food and supplies at an account/unit to ensure client satisfaction and retention for the Company.  Manages food production through kitchen staff in a medium facility. Contributes to account revenue and operating profit contribution through cost containment and safety. Key Duties- Utilizes Sodexo resources, recipes, systems and programs to direct daily operations including; food production, inventory, product deliveries, invoices, and procurement operations.

- Ensures employees have appropriate equipment, supplies and resources to perform their job, and meet goals, cost controls and deadlines as assigned.

- Establishes and maintains a safe work environment including both food and physical safety in order to comply with all regulatory and Sodexo standards

- Complies with budget requirements by controlling costs (i.e. labor, inventory, equipment, materials) and making adjustments when necessary

- Supervises employees by delegating, assigning and prioritizing activities, and monitoring operating standards 

 

 

Qualifications & Requirements
