Description

Aramark Healthcare is seeking qualified candidates for a Part-Time Food Service & Environmental Services Supervisor for an acute care hospital located in Labrador City, NL. 

Responsibilities include daily planning and directing all unit activities related to environmental services and laundry. complying with the standards established by Aramark Healthcare, regulatory agencies and client.   Additionally this role will provide supervison in areas of food production and patient food services, complying with the standards established by Aramark Healthcare, regulatory agencies and client.  Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other departments to provide a unified food service and environmental care experience for patients, residents, visitors and employees. 

 

 

 

 

  • Maintaining effective relationship with client and demonstrating knowledge of contents of current Aramark/client contract.
  • Assist with the hiring, evaluation and disciplining of housekeeping employees; prepare work schedules and maintain adequate staffing.
  • Inspect cleanliness of facility, sanitation and infection control; take corrective action where necessary.
  • Provide supportive leadership; a feeling of complete trust, security, and satisfaction through demonstrations of competence and willingness to serve.
  • All departmental spaces to include housekeeping supply and administrative spaces are to be kept in accordance with the Aramark and the facility standards of cleanliness and appearance; all equipment clean, labeled and kept in good repair.
  • Recognizes and adopts activities appropriate to the specific needs of the patient/resident population; demonstrates knowledge of specific issues directly related to age of patient/resident population.  
  • Assist in maintenance of all controls for each of the Aramark programs, to include: Operations Logs and Records, Housekeeping Records, Account Records, Weekly Inspections, Monthly Summary, Monthly Joint Review Meetings, Daily Hour Control, Safety and Systems, etc., in accordance with Aramark and the facility's directives.

The Food Service & Environmental Services Supervisor 

 

 Key Responsibilities: 

  • Delivers strong operational performance by executing against Aramark Healthcare and regulatory agency standards and programs, continually monitoring operations, and completing assessments and necessary action plans to provide optimal nutrition care and meal service to patients/residents.
  • Drives patient satisfaction and maintains client relationships through rounding. Ensures compliance to food safety, sanitation, and overall workplace safety standards.
  • Supervises, staffs, trains, conducts applicable rounding and manages the performance of the department to include the Food Service Supervisors and/or front line staff regarding food presentation and quality of service.

  • Recognizes and adopts activities appropriate to the specific needs of the patient/resident population and demonstrates knowledge of specific issues directly related to age of patient population
  • Demonstrates accountability for the proper use of patients' protected health information. 
  • Manages and controls resources and materials to ensure quality, adequacy of supply and cost control within budgetary guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree or diploma/2-year  food service. Degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, Food Service Management, Hospitality are preferred. 
  • CSNM Membership
  • Requires minimum 2 years of retail/food service operations management experience working in a high-volume hospitality environment (i.e., hospital, long term care home, etc.)
  • Requires leadership skills and the ability to work with confidential employee, client and Aramark information. 
  • Working knowledge of HACCP in a large volume facility
  • Ability to communicate (listening, verbal and written) effectively with clients, customers of client and support staff. 
  • Ability to write letters, summaries and reports, using prescribed format and conform to all rules of punctuation, grammar, diction and style. 
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
