Food Service Manager 3 for the University of New Haven, located in New Haven, CT. Students today are constantly on the go, expecting healthier dining choices, excellent service and lots of flexibility for where and when they choose to eat. We understand students and meet their ever-changing needs. That is why Sodexo Education is the leading campus dining provider, serving more than 600 higher education campuses throughout the country. 

 

The University of New Haven is a 13M MV account and Food Service Manager 3 will be responsible for Food on Demand. Food on Demand is a restaurant style residential dining room where all orders comes from an online kiosk system, food is made to order, serving Breakfast , Lunch and Dinner, seven days a week. The unit handles about 1000 transactions a day where dinner is the busiest time doing 45% of the business. This position is the number one within the Unit and customer satisfaction is extremely critical As a favorite spot on campus, FoD is an open kitchen, restaurant style and culinary focused eatery. It demands culinary oversight and ingenuity. Additionally it is a diamond to the university who touts the concept to perspective families.

 

The best qualified candidate will have the following:

  • High-volume, College/University food service management experience
  • Experience training and leading service personnel (union experience is a plus)
  • Experience with food and labor management systems
  • Experience managing food services in a contract dining environment
  • Basic culinary/kitchen knowledge
  • Experience with food and physical safety programs
  • Exceptional customer service to meet and exceed customer expectations

Position Summary

Provides supervision for multi-functional food service areas at an account/unit to ensure client satisfaction and retention for the Company.  Contributes to account revenue and operating profit through the implementation of Sodexo programs while executing against Standard Operating Procedures.Key Duties- Maintains and develops client relationships and customer satisfaction for multi-functional food service areas to ensure account retention and positive public relations - Establishes and maintains a safe work environment- Supervises day-to-day work activities by delegating authority, assigning and prioritizing activities and monitoring operating standards- Utilizes Sodexo resources and programs to ensure operating standards and regulatory requirements are met and employees have the necessary equipment and inventory - Manages by providing positive and constructive feedback to employees in order to reward, coach, correct and motivate in order drive a high-level of employee engagement   

 

 

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experienceBasic Management Experience - 2 years Basic Functional Experience 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
