JOB SUMMARY:
Operates a Reach Truck/Fork Lift to move Goods throughout the warehouse for both the Processing and Receiving Departments. Down stocking for the Processing Department, verification of Lot/Quantities, shrink wrapping and placing into overstock bays. Any down time will be used assisting the Receiving Department as needed.
DUTIES:
- Operates material handling equipment (Reach Truck, Forklift, Pallet Jack etc.) safely and efficiently while meeting productivity and quality expectations.
- Operates material handling equipment that promotes and is conductive to a safe work environment.
- Ability to operate a hand held radio frequency scanner, computers, etc.
- Completes daily equipment Forklift Safety / Operational Checklist prior to use
- Safe and efficient use of material handling equipment as well as charging and watering procedures to ensure maximization of battery charge / life.
- Verify skid items, quantities, write skid tags and place into overstock.
- Maintain Department Cleanliness and Safety by removing empty pallets daily.
- Down stock replenishments or backorders for the Processing Department.
- Sort and place items on racks, shelves or in bins.
- Utilize other material handling equipment to move material.
REQUIREMENTS:
- At least one year of operating Reach Truck Equipment in double deep warehouse racking
- Current fork lift operators certificate or ability to obtain certification within one month from hire.
- Ability to use pallet jack and hand truck/dolly.
- Detail orientated.
- Must be Flexible and Willing to perform other duties as assigned if Reach Truck work is completed.
- Valid Drivers License.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Willing to work overtime to accommodate business needs
- Ability to read, understand and follow written and verbal instructions
- Current basic math and computer skills
- Self-motivated and team oriented; works harmoniously and effectively with others.
- Detail oriented with strong follow-through; able to read and type numbers accurately.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- The ability to stand for a long period of time; occasionally alternating between sitting and standing; reaching with both arms; frequently using near vision; operate packaging machine and other tools.
- Frequent bending and stooping
- Frequent lifting/ carrying 11 20 lbs. while occasionally lifting 21-50 lbs
