The New Growth & Development organization is focused on identifying and analyzing areas of future growth and plans to achieve sustained and balance growth across the enterprise. The organization works to answer whats next for Cox and our customers. We develop growth hypothesis and test those hypothesis through: 1) skunkworks 2) investing in new businesses 3) traditional R&D 4) identifying strategic partnerships and 5) exploring emerging businesses. Growth opportunities are currently being incubated across a variety of adjacent business and technology sectors including Healthcare, Commercial IOT, Energy, Edge Computing, etc.


The New Growth & Development group is now hiring a Head of Sales for Cox Edge Services. Cox Edge Services is a new edge compute and data management service within Cox Communications. The Cox Edge Services team mission is to help businesses accelerate business and digital transformation by leveraging the benefits of edge computing. Cox Edge Services is a collection of low latency cloud infrastructure resources using our extensive infrastructure of edge facilities. Our edge data centers are located at the last mile of the network providing superior network speed to support developer and customer workloads across the ecosystem.


About the Job


Cox Edge Services is in search of a dynamic Head of Sales who will lead the sales organization serving a diverse set of customers in target verticals. This executive will join a dynamic and fast paced team where they will own all sales strategy and operations for Cox Edge Services.

The Head of Sales will own setting, executing, optimizing the sales strategy and process for the enterprise market segment. They will identify key markets, stay on top of emerging trends, and collaborate with internal departments. This individual will be high energy, tenacious, detailed, and process-oriented, an exceptionally strong communicator, and a masterful executor who can deliver extraordinary and predictable results, with a track record for meeting and exceeding sales goals. They will be part of the business senior leadership team steering the business and growth strategy, ensuring the business hits its growth milestones.

This individual should be an analytically driven, resourceful and creative professional who enjoys the challenge of driving the commercial development from venture stage to a large-scale global business. The Head of Sales will report to the General Manager of Cox Edge Services.


*Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions*




* Set and optimize the sales strategy and process for Cox Edge Services including sales and demo tools and materials; perfecting the stages of the sales process; understanding which features speak to which prospects; writing the product roadmap with the technology and products team, and more.

* Establish and drive sales processes, based on proven methodologies of measurable success, with a team of Account Executives.

* Generate business by creating, reviewing and driving the pipelines, pointing out obstacles, identifying opportunities, advising on deals in flight, and closing deals.

* Create the annual sales forecast and plan in support of the organizational strategic plan.

* Provide visibility and metrics into the business financial performance via effective dashboards and communication tools.

* Create a culture of success and ongoing business and goal achievement.

* Define and oversee sales staff compensation and incentive programs that motivate the sales team to achieve their sales targets.

* Monitor customer, market and competitor activity and provide feedback to company leadership team and other company functions.

* Maintain key customer relationships and develop and implement strategies for expanding the companys customer base.

* Build a collaborative relationship with Marketing to create digital marketing strategies that fill the pipeline with sales qualified leads.


Qualifications: *Minimum*




* 10 or more years of experience in sales and marketing leadership positions with demonstrated ability to commercialize digital solutions.

* Proven track record driving revenue growth through optimizing Sales Operations.

* Strong technical understanding and know-how across broad set of technologies, with emphasis on cloud, data and analytics products and technologies.

* Demonstrated ability managing internal and external sales teams from offering incubation to launch and at scale.

* Strong influencer with a proven ability to establish a high level of credibility across functional lines of business.

* Excellent track record in cross-functional leadership roles, earning the respect and trust of colleagues, subordinates, and managers alike.

* Ability to juggle multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously as well as effectively collaborate across teams and to work in a diverse, fast paced environment.

* Excellent interpersonal, collaborative and communication skills, ability to articulate solution vision and differentiation effectively (i.e., master the product pitch).

* Experience with Public Cloud, Software as a service, Data Center or Network technology are preferred

* Strong strategy and analytics skills, structured thinking and training.

* Prior start-up experience strongly preferred.

* Advanced degree preferred (Masters degree, etc.).

* BS/BA degree in related discipline desired (sales, marketing, business).
