We are searching for an innovative Healthcare Economics Consultant to join our experienced team.  This creative role offers an excellent opportunity to directly impact an innovative function and secure your future with an industry leader. This position is predominantly responsible for interpreting and analyzing Medicaid claims, premium, capitation and membership data as it relates to clinical health outcomes.  This position is a primary contributor who models complex Medicaid problems in Excel, SAS/SQL and Tableau, as well as applies predictive modeling techniques. Generally work is self-directed and not prescribed.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Assesses, interprets, and analyzes customer needs and requirements
  • Provides analytical support and expertise when compiling and reporting information
  • Evaluates and presents information in a manner that will facilitate management's understanding of the results and impact    
  • Identifies solutions to non-standard requests and problems
  • Solves problems and/or conducts analyses
  • Works with minimal guidance; seeks guidance on only the most complex tasks
  • Translates concepts into practice
  • Provides explanations and information to others on difficult issues
  • Provides management with statistical findings and conclusions in analyzing interpreting trends and root cause analysis
Required Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
  • Curious, self-starter, strong interest in innovation
  • 2+ years of experience performing data analytics
  • Advanced proficiency working with MS Excel including formulas, calculations, charts, graphs, etc.
  • Intermediate proficiency with SAS, SQL, and/or other statistical programs
  • Thrives in highly collaborative, consulting-style, team environment
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Background in Medicaid or general health care
  • 2+ years of experience working with health care claims data and medical codes
  • 2+ years of work experience in a corporate setting
  • Tableau developer
