Description

Aramark Canadas' HR Team is looking for an energetic and driven HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced work environment. The Corporate HR Manager will support an integrated, values-based approach to human resources and client support, aligned to Human Resources strategic initiatives and client needs. She/he will partner with the business to create an environment that emphasizes customer advocacy, client success and employee engagement.  This role will report directly into the Director, Human Resources, Central & Corporate Canada.

The Corporate HR Manager will provide expert HR advice and advocacy as the dedicated HRBP for the Corporate Head Office (H/O) in Canada and provide leadership to approximately 1000 employees inclusive of the US LOBs.  S/he will partner with leaders on human resource matters including the annual performance management process, the annual merit/bonus process, employee opinion surveys, employee engagement activities, employee development, absenteeism management, employee relations, and work with the other HR COEs on various HR projects and assignments.   This role will also act as a delegate to the HR Director and offer indirect coaching to the broader HR team.

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Provide guidance and monitor activities to support business leaders with HR initiatives (e.g. annual performance review process, employee survey action plans, development plans, realignments, etc.)
  • Providing expert advice on people challenges, talent development, organizational and individual performance needs
  • Focus on workforce planning and support leaders with identification key position gaps and succession planning initiatives
  • Identification, building and monitoring of a talent pool for the Canadian head office business
  • Manages all aspects of employee relations for the Canadian H/O and US LOBs in a confidential manner, including providing guidance, facilitation, and coaching with the goal of resolution to associated issues. Work closely and in collaboration with the Director, Human Resources and respective HR partners.  Seeks legal advice when necessary to solve employment disputes.
  • Conduct investigations (hotline, human rights, policy violations) or otherwise as required and participate in hearings or mediations which may arise
  • Maintains knowledge of Canadian legal requirements affecting human resources functions and ensures guidance is in line with both legislation and company policies.
  • Collaborates with designated partners to effectively report, monitor and manage (non)workplace related illness/injury claims and oversees the accommodation and return to work program for H/O employees. Collaborates with Aramark Claims Management as required.
  • Takes initiative to implement programs, policies and service delivery that supports the business.
  • Active participant and first point of contact for new business, RFP, and mobilization calls and HR planning sessions
  • Review, update and refresh of HR Materials and content as used for RFP submissions for all LOBs
  • Support the HRD and HRMs in field mobilization operations including resource requirements and coordination; act as subject matter expert
  • Support the resolution, and potential escalation of issues and mid-course correction/revision of human resource needs
  • Work in partnership with the HRD and HRMs to tailor the human resources opening plan and ensure the implementation of this service model to deliver a successful account opening and ongoing momentum
  • Continually bring perspective based on input/feedback and identify ways to improve human resources effectiveness/efficiency
  • Foster support and relationships by developing a strong level of trust and credibility with all stakeholders
  • Participate and lead other HR related projects and initiatives as assigned
  • Step in for the Director, Human Resources as needed

 

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 8-10 years previous experience as an HRBP in both a field and corporate environment within a similar industry and large-scale, multi-site organization
  • Excellent communication skills (written/spoken) in English
  • Highly computer literate with proficiency in MS Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Previous experience with SAP and/or SAP implementation a definite asset
  • Key experience in Mergers & Acquisitions and related process flow required
  • Previous experience in executing change management plans and training
  • Ability to influence without authority and quickly establish credibility
  • Thorough knowledge of employment legislation including but not limited to the Employment Standards Act and specifically Bill 7, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, Ontario Human Rights Code.
  • Strong business partnering and collaboration skills, with demonstrated ability to influence at all levels within the organization
  • A positive can-do and problem-solving attitude
  • Comfortable pushing back and dealing with complex matters with diplomacy and focus
  • Proven ability and confidence to work independently in an ever-changing environment
  • Demonstrated time-management skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment; work on a number of concurrent projects, self-motivated and resourceful
  • Ability to drive success through people and inspire others by example.
  • Ability to build strong relationships at all levels of the organization, field teams, service providers, international colleagues and US business partners leaders
