Your Role and Responsibilities

IBM Security Operations Analyst Sydney

  • Based in St Leonards
  • Permanent Position Rotating Roster

Security Operations Analysts in the Security Operations Centre (SOC) provide cyber-security monitoring, analysis and response services to multiple IBM customers. As a member of the SOC, analysts work independently as well as in conjunction with other team members to act as the first line of response to security threats and incidents based on monitoring and analysis of multiple security tools and platforms. You will be on the security front line as the eyes and ears of IBM for our customers. SOC Analysts are independent, technically sound and able to use all the investigative tools available to them to perform initial investigation and analysis before taking the required actions or escalating events to appropriate resolver groups. The ability to communicate and detail complex issues and coach other resolver groups on the actions they need to take in response to a security event is a core skill.

As a SOC analyst, you will be monitoring multiple security monitoring and management platforms across IBMs customers in an environment that frequently shifts focus to follow the current trends and emerging threats. Taking inputs from other security teams and following directions during incidents is also a key part of this role. The SOC analyst role is broad in scope and involves interacting with multiple IT security disciplines.
