What You'll Do

The Industry Strategy Manager for Partner and Services, is responsible for developing and executing the ecosystem strategy to enable our customers to fully adopt Ciscos horizontal platforms to meet their business needs in a given industry vertical.  The Strategy Manager executes the strategy by leveraging the Cisco Partner organizations and the Cisco Customer Experience (CX) organization.  This is a global strategy role hence the Industry Strategy Manager must have a global understanding of industry and be able to work cross-functionally regardless of borders.

Who You Are

In this role, you will need a deep understanding of Ciscos industry offers, specifically the horizontal technology platforms and how those platforms are translated to business value through the partner and services ecosystem.  You will have sufficient industry knowledge to identify key ecosystem partners that drive the total Cisco value proposition.  Additionally you must be able to structure and influence the execution of go to market strategies globally through the Cisco partner organizations and Cisco Customer Experience organization.

Who You Will Work With

The primary stakeholder for this role is the Industry Solutions Group Industry Director. The Industry Director is responsible for the overall Cisco industry strategy hence the Industry Strategy Manager, Partner and Services, executes that strategy through the ecosystem. This role will require business acumen, up to the CEO level, with partner companies as well as the ability to understand and influence senior Cisco leaders in both the partner and CX organization to implement the full life cycle of the industry solution; it is expected that such influence is accomplished through developing the necessary business proposition for the relevant stakeholders.   You will have the ability to assess technical issues and understand how these issues can be brokered with Cisco product groups, or Business Entities (BE), as needed in order to enhance the value proposition to customers.  In addition to the key stakeholders above, the Industry Strategy Manager, Partner and Services, must be able to work cross-functionally with Marketing, Sales and Finance. In all cases the output must be programmatic, repeatable and scalable to the broad global sales force, direct and partner.  This approach requires close coordination with ISG program management and business value teams.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Utilizing all the established Cisco entities, but specifically the global partner organizations and Customer Experience:

  • Develop and orchestrate a Partner Ecosystem including developing the required partnerships and leveraging the Cisco partner programs to drive programmatic reach into specialized industry players to drive adoption of Cisco-based Business Offers into the assigned industry
  • Work with ISG industry leadership to initiate new or update existing partner strategies that align with vertical and enterprise Go-To-Market Strategies.
  • Drive partner involvement and commitment to excellence in customer transformation and solution sales engagement and adoption opportunities.
  • Identify key industry partners to align partner capabilities with Cisco technologies in order to complement the key industry solution offerings, then work cooperatively with the Cisco partner teams responsible for recruitment, onboarding, metrics and sustained success.
  • Maintain sales focused relationships with a top tier of partners that are fundamental to assigned industry.
  • Create and drive enablement strategies that include content, training, and tools for selected partners as well as Cisco sales communities.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 10+years in the technology sector, and 7+ years leading Partner development and delivery programs for a solutions selling group. Prefer ~5 years of experience in the relevant industries.
  • Strong program management experience in leading complex relationships.
  • Experience developing business cases relevant to partner solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to work positively with customers, sales, and internal Cisco teams.
  • Prefer experience in consultative technology sales.
  • Ability to collaborate in a dynamic cross-functional organization and influence other teams in executing vertical partner enablement programs.
