Our ideal candidate will combine pharmacy and lab data experience and an excellent understanding of the healthcare data and data quality. This work requires some experience with medication terminologies, lab results, use of metadata, knowledge representation and other basics of medical informatics.

Primary Responsibilities:

""
    ""
  • Participate in the defining Optum standard lab terminologies
  • ""
  • Clinical mapping of coded and un-coded data from customers clinical and financial systems to proprietary medication and lab terminology systems
  • ""
  • Operate advanced Optums terminology development tools
  • ""
  • Participate in the implementation and use of clinical data quality systems and processes
  • ""
  • Support product release work and scheduled updates including but not limited to resolving mapping issues
  • ""
  • Work closely with product owners to understand project requirements and translate those into actionable processes to meet the business need
  • ""
  • Develop and contribute to medication and lab terminology related editorial policies/ mapping heuristics
  • ""
  • Ability to work creatively and flexibly, both independently and as part of a team
  • ""
  • Desire and ability to learn new skills, systems, and processes

Required Qualifications:

    ""
  • 2+ years experience working in the nursing field (provider, payer, etc.)
  • ""
  • 1 year of experience working in informatics field and/or degree (major/minor/certificate) in informatics in lieu of 1 year work experience
  • ""
  • 1+ year experience in medication and lab EMR (Electronic Medical Records) or Claims data
  • ""
  • 1+ year experience in mapping of data from source to target system
  • ""
  • Experience analyzing and summarizing medication and lab data issues
  • ""
  • Experience creating presentations to convey ideas and data findings
  • ""
  • Telecommute available for this role with preference given to Boston, MA
  • ""

  • Experience in healthcare information systems development

  • Experience with med formulary or med dictionary management

  • Experience working directly with software development professionals

  • Experience with mixing IV products in a hospital setting
