Primary Responsibilities:

    ""
  • Adhere to and maintain required levels of performance in both Coding accuracy and productivity
  • ""
  • Identify appropriate assignment of CPT and ICD-10 Codes for Physician and facility services provided in an Inpatient setting
  • ""
  • Understanding of ICD10 Coding in relation to DRGs
  • ""
  • Abstract additional data elements during the chart review process when coding, as needed
  • ""
  • Review and maintain a record of charts coded, held, and/or missing
  • ""
  • Provide documentation feedback to Providers, as needed, and queries physicians when appropriate
  • ""
  • Participate in Coding department meetings and educational events
  • "

Required Qualifications:

    ""
  • High school education or equivalent experience
  • ""
  • Maintain current coding credential from AHIMA/AAPC (RHIA, RHIT, CIC, CCS)
  • ""
  • 3+ years Inpatient medical coding experience (hospital, facility, etc.)
  • ""
  • ICD-10 coding experience
  • ""
  • Experience with DRG coding
  • ""
  • Ability to use a PC in a Windows environment, including MS Word and EMR systems
  • ""
  • If you need to enter a work site for any reason, you will be required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener. When in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are required to wear a mask in common areas. In addition, employees must comply with any state and local masking orders
