The Instructional Coach is a critical asset for improving student achievement. The role of the coach is to build teachers understanding of instructional practices as related to Common Core, Technology, Student Engagement, and Data Driven Instruction. An instructional coach is a teacher who models continuous improvement. The Instructional coach works collaboratively with the Academic Directors to promote reflection, provide guidance and structure, focus on strengths, and address classroom concerns. He or she is responsible for providing high-quality instruction in the classroom through modeling, co-planning, co-teaching, and providing feedback to teachers. This is not a supervisory position and does not include evaluation of teachers.

Job Requirements

1. Certified in any core teaching area.

2. Minimum 5 years teaching experience, with a record of successfully impacting student achievement and working successfully with students who have the greatest needs.

3. Proven ability to work cooperatively and effectively with colleagues, including the ability to create and nurture a professional community of adult learners.

4. Demonstrated leadership qualities and strong interpersonal skills, including giving and receiving constructive feedback.

5. Proven ability to use student data to guide instructional decisions.

6. Demonstrated expertise in oral and written communication.

7. Demonstrates evidence of professional growth and participation in a wide range of professional development activities.

8. Experience and expertise in classroom technology, online curriculum, and student engagement
