Do you love identifying opportunities to improve a consumer experience while also supporting business objectives? Are you interested in helping craft the roadmap for two major brands?

The marketplaces team is focused on making the car shopping to buying experience better for both buyers and sellers and evolving a core line of business for our major brands Autotrader and Kelley Blue Book.

The Lead Product Manager for marketplaces will be an important member of the team by identifying opportunities to bring value to consumers and clients through discovery activities, crafting a vision and roadmap that aligns to strategic initiatives, and collaborating with cross-functional teams from across the organization. You will help socialize the vision, develop go-to-market strategies, and continuously look for the next big thing to improve the shopping to buying experience.

You will help oversee execution of the roadmap in an agile development environment and work with product owners to iterate as additional research, testing, and discovery activities are performed.

Ideal candidates have a background in eCommerce or marketplace web experiences. Automotive experience a plus but not required.

Essential Functions:

Planning - Create Epics and Features and ensures it aligns across products; manage feature creation, identify business rules and business impact; involve Product Owners to ensure delivery team is aligned to feature acceptance criteria and the why; collaborate with other product managers to ensure alignment across products.

Innovation - Manage the innovation pipeline, develops, adapts, and uses innovation tools and processes. (HCD, Design sprints, etc) Partner closely with UX, market research, sales, and business stakeholders to gain an in-depth understanding of consumers, clients, and the competitive landscape. This means identifying problems and jobs to be done across segments and personas. Then creating products to support the completion of those jobs and solve problems for consumers and clients.

Product Management - Assess product performance against KPIs and make corrections to improve performance; create and deliver thoughtful information to influence key market constituents; make end-of-life recommendations for non-performant products. Prioritize product requirements and work with product owners as well as product to prioritize the backlog.

Relationship Management - Translates stakeholder engagement strategies into specific activities and deliverables. Facilitates open communication and discussion between stakeholders, acting as a single point of contact by developing, maintaining, and working to stakeholder engagement strategies. Acts as SME for product lines and supports various stakeholder requests throughout product lifecycle.


* Bachelors Degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Communications, or related field; Masters degree preferred

* 7 years; or equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.

* Requires and applies comprehensive knowledge of business, product maturity and performance, and industry principles, practices, and procedures.

* Working knowledge for SAFe Agile Methodology.

* Using expertise, resolves a wide range of issues using strategic and innovative thinking. Is fully familiar with recognized industry bodies of knowledge both generic and specific.

* Actively seeks out new knowledge for own personal development and the mentoring or coaching of others. Develops a wide breadth of knowledge across the industry or business.

* Applies knowledge to help to define the standards which others will apply.

* Working experience in design, development and implementation of product plans.

* Working experience in full product lifecycle methodologies.

* Working experience in creating, prioritizing and recommending epics and features.

* Working experience in in conducting competitive research and analysis.

* Working experience in identifying KPIs and other analytics to measure product value.

* Working experience with executive presentations.

* Working experience in a collaborative, cross-functional, and complex team environment.
