The Lead Therapist is responsible for providing individual and group clinical services to patients admitted to the Fremont Hospital Adolescent Eating Disorder (EDO) Program and assists patients in meeting their bio-psycho-social needs. This includes enabling the patient through therapeutic treatment to achieve their optimal level of emotional health. Services provided are individualized assessment and consultation, specialized clinical services for patients/families receiving care, crisis intervention, short-term family therapy, and conducting group therapy. In addition, the Lead Therapist is responsible for managing the treatment activities offered to EDO patients in collaboration with unit staff, including: the level system; completing treatment plans, behavioral plans, and individualized treatment programming; interfacing with the physician led treatment team and providing clinical insight and guidance to the unit. The Lead Therapist conducts goals meetings with patients and their families, and discharge meetings to complete safety planning and safe transition to next level of care. The Lead therapist provides guidance, training and direction to other EDO program therapists and supports the Milieu Therapy team as needed.

Job Requirements

Education: Masters degree in psychology, social work, counseling psychology or related clinical field from an accredited college or university.

Experience: A minimum of two (2) years' experience in behavioral health care, with direct experience in family and group therapies, crisis intervention and treatment skills, and strong clinical assessment skills. Eating Disorders, Addiction, or Behavioral Treatment experience is preferred. In lieu of experience specialized education, training may be acceptable.

Licensure: Active license Issued by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences, or other applicable license: LCSW or LMFT

Certifications: Successful completion of CPR Certification and successful completion of a professionally recognized Crisis Preventative Intervention (CPI) course within 90 days of employment and prior to assisting with restraining procedures.

Additional Requirements: Able to work overtime and flexible hours when needed.
