Job Description

In an effort to provide recovery support to our clients in the Rochester, MN area and to those who need us, but don’t know us yet:

The Pride Institute is coming to Rochester!

The Pride Institute is the nation’s first and leading provider of residential and outpatient treatment programs exclusively treating substance abuse and mental health needs of the LGBTQ+ community. With a Residential program in Eden Prairie, MN that provides integrated treatment services for adults with chemical dependency, sexual compulsivity, and co-occurring disorders, and an Intensive Out-Patient (IOP) program in the Uptown area of Minneapolis, we have been providing our clients a comfortable, safe alternative to traditional treatment programs for over 30 years.

We are excited to announce the early 2018 opening of our new IOP facility, located at 4104 18th Ave NW in Rochester. As we prepare for our entrance into the Rochester area, we are inviting experienced LADCs to apply for our staff positions.

Pride staff are a diverse, compassionate, and dedicated group.  Some of us are part of the community and some of us are allies.  Some of us are in recovery and some of us have only witnessed the devastation caused by addiction.  Some of us came to Pride with limited knowledge of the unique challenges experienced by our clients and some of us have personally faced those challenges.  We are always learning from each other and from our clients.

Our LADCs provide on-going assessments, treatment planning, progress reviews, and continuing care planning. They deliver engaging, culturally responsive, person-centered individual/group counseling sessions involving recovery education.

Our initial plan is to offer programming on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, but we anticipate expanding our offerings to meet the needs of our clients. Work schedules will depend on client needs, so we are looking for creative and organized candidates with relatively flexible schedules. We are seeking a self-starter who can work independently with minimal direction, but who can be equally effective in a team-based environment.

For this position, we are offering a $2,500 sign on bonus, education loan payoff assistance, and an "extended commute" stipend, in addition to competitive pay.  Our eligible employees are able to choose from a comprehensive list of benefits and select those that best meet their needs.  These benefits include:

  • Medical
  • Dental
  • Vision
  • Insurance and income protection
  • Retirement and savings
  • Flexible Spending Accounts
  • Generous PTO
  • UHS Stock Purchase Plan

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE PRIDE INSTITUTE: We are a subsidiary of Universal Health Services, Inc. (UHS), one of the nation’s largest and most respected hospital companies. UHS has built an impressive record of achievement and performance. Steadily growing from a startup to an esteemed Fortune 500 corporation, UHS today has annual revenue nearing $10 billion. In 2017, UHS was recognized as one of the World’s Most Admired Companies by Fortune; ranked #276 on the Fortune 500, and listed #275 in Forbes inaugural ranking of America’s Top 500 Public Companies. The UHS operating philosophy is as effective today as it was 40 years ago: Build or acquire high quality hospitals in rapidly growing markets, invest in the people and equipment needed to allow each facility to thrive, and become the leading healthcare provider in each community we serve. Headquartered in King of Prussia, PA, UHS has more than 81,000 employees and through its subsidiaries operates more than 320 acute care hospitals, behavioral health facilities and ambulatory centers in the United States, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands and the United Kingdom.

Job Requirements

Qualified candidates will have an active, unrestricted license (LADC) awarded by the Minnesota Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy, with dual license (+ LPC, LPCC, LMFT) strongly preferred; have at least two (2) years’ experience, knowledge, and/or expertise with co-occurring disorders, cognitive-behavioral counseling approaches, and/or trauma informed care; and have insight regarding the unique challenges faced by our clients. They must be able to pass/clear the MN DHS Background Study and must be free of chemical use problems for at least two years immediately preceding their hiring, and must sign a statement attesting to that fact.
