Machine Operator

OVERVIEW: As a machine operator, you will oversee machinery and various machine work processes in order to create precision fabrications. You will run parts program to make products into a practical reality and check products for optimum quality assurance. This position will also diagnose and identify any mechanical problems or faulty tools to ensure that equipment runs safely and efficiently at all times.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Set-up, calibrate, maintain and replace machine tools as needed
- Align and place tools, cutters, guides, and stops correctly in machine
- Ensure parts and fabrications are made to correct specifications by reading using templates, blueprints, sketches, etc.
- Operate manual machinery and oversee automated machines
- Run test products to ensure quality and accuracy of production meets the set standard
- Place and secure various materials onto machine
- Oversee machines, belts, any moving pieces, etc. during the production process and adjust speed and/or movements as needed, per published procedures.
- Observe and monitor input/output, accuracy, and efficiency of machine
- Keep a daily activity log of production notes (including totals, defects etc.)
- Dispose of and/or recycle any waste in line with company and state environmental policy
- Check & record First Piece & First Article, as required per established procedures.
- Additional duties, as assigned by management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

- Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedural manuals. Ability to write reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & TRAINING:
- High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); and 1 to 3 years of related experience; One year certificate from college or technical school preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES OR REGISTRATIONS:
- OSHA 10 hour Certification preferred.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook is required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- The employee will consistently stand, walk, stoop, kneel or crouch during shift. Employee will be required to regularly sit, use hand to finger, handle, feel and reach with hands and arms. Employee must be able to occasionally lift and or move up to 50 lbs.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- This position works in an environment with loud noise levels.

- None is required for this position.
