Sodexo has a new opening for an Accounting Manager  with primary focus on contractual risk & rewards analysis, analyses of various contractual terms, and supporting the BIGS team and Segment Finance specifically for reporting out on Contract Management and Operational Excellence activities. This position will be located in Cheektowaga (Buffalo), NY.

 

Responsibilities of this position include:

  • Provide analyses and insights surrounding contract risks and rewards, contract management and operational excellence activities, and other client contract terms as needed
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to Region CFO, Segment Finance Leaders and others
  • Interpret client contracts and review financial statements to validate findings and assertations made by BIGS, Segment Finance and Operations. Review and submit CMOE reporting for the NorAM region to Group.
  • Actively engage with BIGS, Segment Finance, Operations, Tax, Law, Accounting and other departments as needed to:
    • understand existing environments and processes;
    • validate data and findings;
    • test and report findings for technical system enhancements and new solutions
    • identify and implement solutions to encountered issues
  • Research and resolve specific accounting and billing issues identified throughout these processes

MS Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, Access

 

Education and Experience

Demonstrated ability to accurately interpret client contracts

Thorough understanding of SAP, SCAS, client billing scenarios and various financial statements

Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance preferred or equivalent work experience

4-6 years of progressive accounting experience

Position Summary

Has in-depth knowledge in Accounting and basic knowledge of related disciplines. Maintains accounting policies and controls, fiscal controls, preparing financial reports and safeguarding the organization's assets. Maintains accounting and financial records and reports, including general ledger, financial statements, regulatory and management reports. Solves complex problems; takes a new perspective on existing solutions. Works independently; receives minimal guidance. May lead projects or project steps within a broader project or have accountability for ongoing activities or objectives. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May represent the level at which career may stabilize for many years or even until retirement.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience

Basic Management Experience - 3 years   

Basic Functional Experience - 3 years
