The Manager, Advanced Analytics"is responsible for leading a full array of analytics, clinical analytic"consulting, and applied development activities at WellMed. This individual is"responsible for the development and delivery of large and complex"recommendation applications and projects. Develops innovative and effective"approaches to solve WellMed's analytic needs, and communicates results and"methodologies as appropriate. Provides direction and guidance to team members"to discover business insights, identify opportunities, provide solutions, and"improve reporting to solve business problems through creative development and"augmentation. The Advanced Analytics Manager must be proficient at integrating"and preparing large, varied datasets, architecting specialized database and"computing environments, and communicating results. The Manager, Advanced Analytics"will oversee the daily operations of the Data Science Development team. This"position will ensure appropriate processes are in place to manage the"requirements, development, quality and accuracy within a systems development"life cycle SDLC framework of the products it builds.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Leads the strategic design and maintenance of assigned"recommendation applications
  • Examines enterprise/regional/operational application"needs and concerns to determine opportunities or problem areas, and provides"feedback regarding development of applicable solutions, policies, procedures,"methods and/or standards
  • Ensures that the use of applications enhance business"decision making capabilities; through standard/ad hoc reporting, optimization,"visualization, and analytics
  • Oversees the analysis and determination of applicable"source data (data feeds, systems, databases, sources of truth) to use for"applications
  • Manages the development of automated solutions for"reporting, ad-hoc projects and longstanding processes; establishing and"refining efficiency processes and standards
  • Identifies enhancement opportunities for application"performance, efficiency, and optimization, and ensures scaling capacity to"enable future growth to include evaluation of new or external technologies in"support of growth
  • Meets regularly with business and IT leaders, and"maintains proactive communication with customers; clinicians, data stewards,"enterprise project teams
  • Manages intake of enterprise application update"requests, gathers business requirements and prioritizes against other projects"in queue
  • Develops the approach for integration of new and existing"provide performance data into comprehensive analytic evaluation tools
  • Responsible for clinical report development and"presentation of findings, including identification of actionable insights"related to WellMed's value in terms of patient care, clinical quality, and cost"outcomes
  • Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, meeting"deadlines as agreed upon with our development and project partners
  • Coordinates and manages the data science development team's"daily activities and operating budget
  • Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are"met and adhere to approved budgets.

  • Mentors and guides the professional and technical"development of team members
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's"degree in related field of technology such as Information Technology, Computer"Science, Software Engineering, or similar field of study required
  • 5+"years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or application"development; preferably in a technology or healthcare organization
  • 5+"years of experience manipulating large datasets and using databases
  • 2+"years of supervisory experience; preferably overseeing multiple projects simultaneously"in a fast paced, high volume workload environment
  • Strong"SQL background and knowledge of database architecture, functionality and"design.
  • Strong"understanding of data structures, data modeling, and dashboards
  • Experience"leading projects, ensuring deliverable quality, tracking progress, and"reporting status
  • Experience"with small group facilitation, conducting formal presentations, and with"written and verbal communications with senior leadership and customers
  • Working"knowledge of healthcare administrative data (medical claims, eligibility,"provider data) or clinical data systems (electronic medical records, hospital"monitoring systems, etc.)
  • Excellent"critical thinking and problem solving skills.
  • Self-starter"with a proven ability to take ownership of job responsibilities and ensure"successful completion of all assigned tasks.
  • Ability"to adapt quickly in an ever-changing, priority driven environment
  • Microsoft"Office Products experience (Excel, Word, Visio and Power Point)
  • Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer"Science, or Management
  • Familiarity with the Medicare industry's concepts,"practices, and procedures
  • Experience with at least one programming language,"e.g. Python, C#, C++
  • Knowledge and process experience using systems"development life cycle (SDLC) for advanced analytics implementations and"support for predictive analytics models
  • User"Interface (UI) design experience for automated and/or end-user interactive"visualizations, displays, or reports based on analytic mod
  • Experience with security and platform architecture
