Manager, Customer Analytics & Insights Japan


This is an opportunity within Customer Analytics and Insights (CAI) to work as a consultative and strategic partner to the Commercial organization.

The person in this role will generate the impactful analytics and generate meaningful insights to address key business imperatives and guide the successful performance of in-line brands. In addition, this person will support the advancement of indications or assets in the pre-launch stage of development.

This role is dynamic, fast paced, and interfaces with a multidisciplinary team (i.e., local and global marketing, other Analytic colleagues, Medical, Finance) to ensure all functions effectively collaborate to deliver smart and thoughtful solutions to address current and future business issues.

Lastly, the successful candidate will join a community of CAI colleagues worldwide that are constantly enabling business transformation through strong analytics and critical thinking, proactive thought leadership and influence, and effective communication of highly complex and dynamic information through innovative and creative ways.


Role definition and key accountabilities include, but are not limited to the following:

**Market Analytics**

+ Lead analytics (i.e., primary market research, secondary data analysis, advance analytics) and leverage insights for better decision making

+ Recommend, define and implement analytical plans that generate insights to address critical success factors.

+ Act as strategic partner to the commercial organization in terms of consulting, framing, investigating, and answering critical business questions

**Forecasting/LE Reviews/Brand Review/Operating Plan/POA**

+ In partnership with key stakeholders, drive the development of Long Range Forecast (LRF), LE reviews, Operating Plan, and POA materials

+ Conduct KPI measurement, ensure accuracy and clear articulation of secondary data insights and implication to the business

+ Leverage appropriate internal and external data sources and primary research to communicate a 'meaningful/compelling story' for the purposes of commercial deliverables such as Operating Plans and POA materials.

**Vendor Management**

+ Develop, commission and contract projects using (preferred) vendors with the appropriate capabilities

+ Provide directions in shaping quality-driven deliverables

+ Accountable for Compliance and Corporate SOP obligations across all projects

+ Manage budgets associated with assigned activities.

+ Identify and leverage new vendor capabilities to optimize generation of insights

**Collaboration with Analytical teams**

+ Partner with Global Analytical teams to execute Glocal-related projects

+ Actively seek and share knowledge and expertise with other colleagues making use of knowledge sharing platform

+ Alignment with other analytics teams (i.e., Advanced Analytics, Forecasting Center of Excellence, Omni-channel) to ensure comprehensive and cohesive activities


+ **Analytical Skills** : Synthesize data from variable data sources, both new and existing, into insights; utilize appropriate analytical driven approach in addressing key issues of the business

+ **Critical Thinking** : Provide data-driven insights that not only include the 'what', but also 'the why and how' for better decision making

+ **Strong Communication Skills** : Ability to effectively and confidently communicate findings in Japanese and English; readily align interpersonal style with the individual needs of customers; communicates frequently with team members earning their respect and trust

+ **Thought Partner** : Act as a thought partner and bring forward recommendations (in terms of projects and research results) that influences strategic thinking of stakeholders; build strong relationships with colleagues from all levels in the organization

+ **Influence Skills** : Favorably influence decision making by effectively communicating research insights, implication and actionable recommendations; drive implementation of recommendations, where appropriate

+ **Highly Collaborative** : Manages projects in a collaborative manner; comfortable providing guidance and sharing expertise with others to help develop their skills and perform at their best

+ **Strong Project Management** : Clearly articulate scope and deliverables of project aligned with business objectives; deliver quality projects on a timely manner

**Technical Skills**

+ Strong primary research experience utilizing qualitative and quantitative research

+ Strong secondary data experience

+ Expertise in directing vendor to apply appropriate statistical analysis/rigor to data collected

+ Proven ability to synthesize data from various sources and develop a compelling 'story' to drive better decision making

+ Experience in advance analytics (i.e., Artificial Intelligence) and customer/omni-channel analytics

+ Experience in Oncology highly preferred

+ Experience in forecasting highly preferred

+ Fluent in English (written and spoken)

+ Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills

**Work-related Experience**

+ 3-5+ years of commercial, strategy, and/or research/analytics experience


+ Bachelor's degree required, Masters in a business or quantitative discipline, preferred
