The Manager of Talent Development will lead the creation, design and implementation of talent and leadership development strategies, initiatives and programs to improve leadership capability at all levels, deepen bench strength, drive employee engagement and retention. The Manager will drive talent and leadership development planning strategies, tools and processes in the disciplines of curriculum development, talent assessment, leadership pipeline development, coaching, competency identification and high-potential development.

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Leads and implements best-in-class talent development strategy and establish the strategic vision for company-wide talent development content and delivery.
  • Designs programs and initiatives to systematically develop leadership competency across all levels and to help prepare leaders for career advancement by honing key competencies that are required to operate the business.
  • Collaborate with Business Leadership and Human Capital Partners to conduct leadership, career and talent assessments to help identify gaps and develop/source solutions to improve leadership development.
  • Partner with Optum talent development resources to ensure talent development programs and materials are being utilized throughout MedExpress and linked to Optum development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Human Capital Partners on the MedExpress Talent Review process including the identification and development of top, emerging, and valued talent.
  • Work with senior leaders to create a high-potential development program. This includes the design and implementation of an effective leadership development program and talent pipeline program including experiential learning and action learning experiences that deepens bench strength and provides growth opportunities to strong performers.
  • Manages the professional development of high-potentials, partnering with leaders to ensure development plans are effective and applicable.
  • Develop and administer a process which focuses on building bench strength to meet business needs.
  • Guide and consult with leaders to develop career paths and career development plans that meet succession and development needs.
  • Manage all aspects of talent development lifecycle, to include ongoing training programs, development of future training programs, and training consultation for key stakeholders.
  • Utilize results of annual performance review process to identify key leadership performance gaps and opportunities.
  • Develop measures, benchmarks and scorecards to monitor the effectiveness of talent development efforts; apply these measures to support and drive progress in talent management and retention.
  • Manage all aspects of the training partner relationship, vendor selection, vendor management and evaluation.
  • Evaluate and maintain leadership and technical competency models that facilitate the assessment of employees versus these competencies. In addition, based on competency evaluation, provide for development plans.
  • Form collaborative relationships with Human Resources leaders and Business Partners in order to execute talent strategies and efforts to support the growth/strategic objectives of the company.
  • Support curriculum development needs for the MedExpress Training team.
  • Facilitates courses in virtual and classroom settings.
