Marketing and Thought Leadership Manager - Global Partner Marketing

What You'll Do

You will join the award-winning Global Partner Marketing team developing the strategy and execution of marketing initiatives to drive and elevate the Cisco brand among our 60k partners and internal stakeholders. To help lead our marketing approach to the next level, you will oversee a team responsible for developing and managing unique thought leadership plans and campaigns to our partners and internal stakeholders.

You will focus on driving audience-specific marketing communications: develop integrated marketing communications plans and thought leadership campaigns to drive awareness and advocacy across global audiences. This includes management of brand campaigns and partner success stories, Cisco Partners social media and blog platforms, executive-level thought leadership and editorial planning, and Ciscos industry-leading Marketing Velocity Learning platform.

Being a critical partner to the Global Partner Marketing leadership team, you will play an important role in further transforming our marketing practice in the following areas:

  • Outside in/partner perspective - Cultivate strategic relationships to ensure the partner and industry perspective is the driving force behind our plans and execution
  • Strategic Direction Using data and partner insights to establish marketing-to plans in alignment with sales and marketing goals
  • Business Mindset Develop compelling narratives, messaging and through leadership that brings Ciscos business transformation to life and the success of our partners
  • Marketing Innovation Use a combination of data, new digital platforms and content marketing techniques to create and manage cross-functional marketing efforts. Be agile in a fast-changing, resource-constrained environment
  • Team leadership - Cultivate an innovation culture that recognizes team creativity. Develop future leaders and accelerate your teams skill sets to transform alongside the industry
  • Strategic Relationships - Establishing effective relationships with business partners, including: senior executives, peers, partners, media/analysts, external vendors, and internal stakeholders
  • Drive for results Execute relentlessly to deliver desired business outcomes

Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Provide counsel on overarching marketing communications strategies, positioning and messaging across internal and external audience and influencers.
  • Development and execution of the Global Partner Marketing thought leadership platform, activation and amplification across various communication channels (including blog and social platforms).
  • Develop a strategic narrative that conveys how Cisco delivers differentiated business value to partners and partner marketing.
  • Leverage and activate additional research initiatives that underscore the organizations strategy and vision, such as analyst reports and additional third-party research projects
  • Oversee Ciscos marketing-to partner initiatives to drive brand awareness, including social media and blog platforms, and partner success stories
  • Direct the strategy of the overall Marketing Velocity Learning program, including content and digital planning to help our partners develop their digital marketing practices through training and education
  • Manage direct team and agencies on complex projects that contribute to business strategies, providing overall strategy, guidance and alignment to business priorities
  • Understand Ciscos corporate strategy and the role of Ciscos Partner Ecosystem, their careabouts and business drivers

Who You'll Work With

The team works with partners, external and internal stakeholders in a dynamic and fast-paced environment to drive marketing strategies that help partners achieve business outcomes and grow Ciscos business. You have a unique opportunity to join a dynamic and agile team that is undergoing an evolution of its practices and skills to become more integrated and automated using a digital/ omnichannel approach where practical, so our marketing becomes more personalized and effective.

You will work closely with members of Global Partner Organizations leadership team, and your counterparts across Global Marketing and Communications. You will work across our global and country teams to apply all that Cisco can offer to our partners, which account for 85% of Ciscos $49 billion revenue.

Who You Are

You are a strategic thinker capable of translating strategy into compelling narratives and content tailored to specific audiences. You have previous experience managing and developing marketing communications and leading programs in a fast-paced environment, as well as:

  • You have 8+ years of experience in creating and managing marketing communications platforms and content development within a large tech company
  • Ideally, you have experience and understand our partner business
  • You have a BS/BA degree in marketing, communications or related discipline
  • Passionate about simplifying complex ideas and business strategy into consumable content
  • Considered an expert in marketing trends, content creation, digital strategy and managing programs
  • Have proven experience creating content and editorial strategies that inspire and inform audiences
  • Experience with a modern mix of content and editorial strategy: presentations, blogs, video, social and content marketing
  • Understand digital marketing concepts and stay informed on industry marketing and communication trends
  • Work collaboratively under tight deadlines with other global and cross-functional communications and marketing teams
  • Can communicate expertly and strategically with high-level clients and in public speaking environments
  • Leverage data to best shape your content and determine appropriate audiences
  • Experience managing third-party agencies and program budgets
  • Can effectively lead, inspire and grow team and direct reports
