*Schedule:Monday - Friday, no nights, weekends or holidays.Location:Rancho Santa Margarita, CA.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Perform patient intake process (vital signs, history)
  • Perform clinical procedures (injections, ear lavage, EKG)
  • Assist providers with procedures
  • Maintain clinical logs (autoclave, temperature logs)
  • Submit electronic referrals for additional services
  • Enroll / respond to electronic patient messages in patient portal program
  • Process medication refills per protocol
  • Make / take patient calls
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1+ year of experience as a Medical Assistant working in amedical office or clinic setting
  • Graduate from a Medical Assistant program / school, or a Registered Medical Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant
  • Current BLS and CPR card OR willing to obtain in 30 days of hire
  • You will be provisioned with appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and are required to perform this role with patients and members on site, as this is an essential function of this role

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bilingual in English and Farsi (ability to read, write and speak). Language assessment will be completed for this position.
  • Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program with a back office internship completed or a graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program
  • Experience working in internal medicine or family practice environment, Family Practice or Geriatric practice working with adults and children
  • Experience working with health plans
  • 1+ year of EMR experience
  • Working knowledge of health insurance: HMO, PPO, Medicare and Medi -Cal
  • Microsoft Office proficiency
