Job Description
As the Medical Technologist you will be responsible for ensuring timely, accurate and comprehensive sample processing during screening, admission, study conduct and discharge laboratory procedures.
You will perform laboratory procedures and processes in strict compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) standards, Good Laboratory Practice (GLP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), QNQC procedures, OSHA guidelines and other state and local regulations as applicable, ensuring strict compliance to the study protocol at all times.
You will be required to ensure your license remains active by means of at least minimum continuing educational requirements, as stated in the CLIA and State in which the Diagnostic Laboratory operates guidelines with regards to licensing.
You should have experience with laboratory processing equipment as well as training in OSHA, Chemical Right to Know Hazard Communication, Biohazardous Waste and Fire Safety.
Other duties:
- Ensure the daily maintenance of the diagnostic laboratory equipment, and informs the Manager, Clinical Safety Laboratory if any issues with equipment arise
- Ensure the timely entry of lab results and controls into the appropriate databases/reports
- Maintain a safe, clean, and neat working environment
- Follow OSHA requirements for safe workplace and Biohazardous Guidelines
- Execute other duties as required by the Manager, Clinical Safety Laboratory, and/or management team, as training and experience allow
- Provide administrative and operational support as a member of the site team
Qualifications
What you will bring to the role:
- Associates degree in science related field of study
- Minimum 2 years of experience working in a clinical laboratory as a medical technologist
- State of Florida Medical Technologist License
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong organizational skills
- Proficient with MS Office Suite
- Able to work under extremely tight deadlines
- Strong analytical and decision making skills
- Able to work independently with little supervision
