The Mental Health Tech (MHT) provides direct care and supervision for assigned patients. TheMHT is involved in all aspects of the patients care, from getting up in the morning to getting ready for bed at night and continual monitoring while the patient sleeps.The MHT assures patients are safe, are aware of basic rules and expectation, provides guidance with self-help skills required for everyday life.The MHT is a role model for patients, demonstrating effective problem solving and decision-making skills. Assists with recreational and therapeutic activities, transports patients to and from medical appointments, assures that patients participate in scheduled treatment programming, and provides assistance in school. The MHT is the backbone of the treatment staff at Meridell.

Job Requirements



1. Education: High school graduate or equivalent required; college preferred.

2. Experience: Experience working with children and/or adolescents is preferred.

3. License/Certification: Valid Driver License.

4. Skills: Must possess effective written and verbal communication skills and ability to work under stress. Must exhibit professional conduct, honor boundaries, be able to set limits and maintain patient confidentiality.

5. Essential physical Requirements: Must be able to meet physical demands of lifting and moving over 50 pounds, walking and standing for long periods of time, running for short periods of time. Must be able to perform required SAMA techniquestosafelymanage patients.
