Full timeday, evening, or night shift positions working 40 hours per week with every other weekend rotationforChild/Adolescent units in Acute or Residential Services. Mental Health Technicians provide direct care and supervision for residents, assure residents are kept safe, learn and practice appropriate hygiene and self-help skills, and are aware of rules and expectations. Act as a role model for residents, demonstrating effective problem solving and decision-making skills. Assist in providing recreational and therapeutic activities for the residents, transporting residents to and from medical appointments, and assuring scheduled programming is carried out. Perform duties as assignedin accordance with the ANA Standards of Practice for Psychiatric Mental Health Care, and facility mission, values, policies, and behavioral standards.TheMHT II/III mentors and trains new staff and are part of the facility's career ladder programso positions are limited andsome experience withthe facility is required. Mental Health Technicians report to the Milieu Manager under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer.

Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelors Degree in Psychology or related field preferred for MHT II and required for MHT III. Minimum six months to one year of experience working with a psychiatric in-patient population required. Facility experience required for MHT II/III.
