What Youll Do:

Discovery Education is looking for a strategic, thoughtful Account Management and Partnership professional to join our CEP team to drive partner growth. The Manager, Corporate Partnerships will support a portfolio of partner programs with organizations that share our mission to positively impact student achievement. Our corporate partners are diverse big brands, social impact organizations, sports teams, thought leaders which provides candidates the unique opportunity to work across a broad array of industries, disciplines and subject areas.

The body of programs includes initiatives in underfunded areas such as workforce readiness, careers, health and wellness, STEM, financial literacy, life skills and more. CEP programs support educating the whole-child and provide dynamic real-world learning opportunities for students nationwide, anchored by Discovery Educations award-winning K-12 services.

Key Responsibilities:

Discovery Education is looking for a savvy, collaborative, and creative individual who can work effectively in a team environment. Collaboration with CEP team members to ensure the highest level of service is granted to our partners and to ensure program goals are met or exceeded .

Account Management:

  • Lead strategic development and implementation of key partner programs
  • Develop strategic project plan for each assigned campaign
  • Manage process to ensure that all deliverables meet clients strategy and are cohesive/consistent with client goals and objectives
  • Manage all partner program results, research findings, competitive activity, etc., to proactively identify marketing opportunities to enhance, expand and extend current initiative.
  • Manage program strategy and provide proactive recommendations based on management of process to continually monitor/analyze results
  • Understand overall business priorities of each partner in order to identify new opportunities to deliver additional value
  • Manage and helps lead renewal of partner programs and assist in new business development and presentations, as requested
  • Demonstrate fiscal responsibility and proactively identify opportunities to synergize and optimize delivery of needed resources to schools

Project Management:

  • Direct overall development and execution of assigned program deliverables
  • Direct/lead weekly client status calls, provide detailed recaps of agreements and next steps
  • Plans and prioritizes program deliverables in conjunction with team leader(s)
  • Ensure that principles of efficiency, economy and quality are utilized in all client work
  • Direct day-to-day account problem solving
  • Manage key client/business issues and involves strategic partners as needed
  • Proactively keeps Director informed of all key client information/activity on a regular basis
  • Share information across the division to coordinate and support all areas of the business.
  • Demonstrate a proactive, problem solving-solution oriented approach at all times.
  • Maintain clear & complete lines of accountability.

Client Relations

  • Maintain and grow client relationships with assigned client partners
  • Develop client relations beyond existing engagement (e.g. PR, education experts, etc.)
  • Present new opportunities to impact teaching and learning, in support of partner objectives
  • Manage/mediate internal and client issues & opportunities, as appropriate
  • Demonstrate poise, professionalism and polish in all communications with client

Requirements:

Mission-Driven: Passionate about Discovery Education's vision to transform teaching and learning, experience in education or ed-tech industry a plus

Professional Experience: Experienced and respected sales or account management executive with minimum 5 7 years of direct partnership, account facing, sales and/or development responsibility. Proven ability to meet and exceed aggressive targets in achieving business objectives. Demonstrated innovative and strategic leader with strong analytical skills. Legal right to work in the United States.

Education: Bachelors Degree required in business management, communications, marketing, or related fields.

Knowledge & Skills: Experienced and demonstrated knowledge of sales processes, client management, and strategies and tactics to grow revenue. Candidate must be highly organized, able to prioritize and be driven by a strong work ethic and a sense of urgency.

Communication Skills: Excellent written and oral communication as well as strong interpersonal skills.

Leadership:Demonstrate exceptional leadership; strong work ethic, flawless organization skills, and ability to inspire others to act and fulfill Discovery Educations mission.

Collaborative: Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.

Hustle: The courage and confidence to work hard and with passion; committed to getting the job done; sustain effort in the face of adversity. Maintain consistency and focus over time with a positive never give up attitude.

Self-Motivation and Self-Starter: The ability to do what needs to be done without being micromanaged; ability to manage/prioritize multiple tasks, proactively manage numerous projects, and prioritize competing timelines; demonstrate a problem solving/ solution-oriented approach.

Learning Orientation: Always willing to learn something new, not rigid in beliefs or expectations.

Sense of Humor: Because we all need to laugh sometimes.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in all Microsoft Office tools including One Drive, Slack, and Outlook as well as presentation design (Keynote or PowerPoint), Microsoft Excel, Social Media, etc.

Flexibility: Candidates must be willing to travel 20-30% of the time to meet with partners, customers, or internal meetings.
