Job Summary
Do you enjoy working in a fast paced environment? Do you have the technical ability to write a Crystal Report or a SQL query to extract statistical and financial information using a complex software application and perform technical and administrative support duties? If you thrive on handling multiple duties, are successful working in an ever changing environment, and possess the aptitude to extract information from databases, analyze data, identify trends, and manage software applications including updating complex table structures, then you might be interested in this unique full time position as an Administrative Analyst working for the Municipal Court.

This position is critical to the court's operational team. Other duties include providing application and end user training, monitor legislative changes that affect the law, write reports, perform research, serve as a liaison to other City Departments including the Information Technology Department, and act in the capacity as a lead to assist with daily operations. In order to be considered a candidate for this position you must meet the minimum qualifications and possess attributes that include being professional, able to multitask, have the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in written format, be dependable, exhibit leadership qualities, and have the ability to learn at a quickened pace.

Qualified candidates will be invited to participate in testing for the position. Testing will take approximately 1 hour and evaluate job related knowledge and abilities. Candidates scoring as qualified will be invited to a panel interview for final employment selection.

What are the minimum qualifications?
  • Must pass the pre-employment background check.
  • Must have an Oregon Driver license and have a driving record that meets the City of Salem's driving standards.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, public administration or a related field and one year of professional administrative level experience involving review, analysis, and preparation of recommendations, development of administrative policies, procedures and systems, or any combination of experience and training that demonstrate possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities as listed, and ability to perform the essential job functions.
  • Must pass criminal background check necessary to obtain Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) clearance and Law Enforcement Data System (LEDS) certification within 30 days of hire (clearance must be maintained throughout employment).
  • Bilingual skills preferred.
  • Previous experience with Law Enforcement Data Systems (LEDS) preferred.
  • Knowledge of traffic violations, Department of Motor Vehicle (DMV) regulations, Oregon Revised Statutes (ORS) and correlating processes preferred.
