Your Role and Responsibilities

You will be specialised in a set of related service products and offerings in the Networking and Communications areas focused primarily around selling value add networking services such as network consulting, transformation, managed services, optimization and software defined networking. Services solutions also include re-sale of various Vendor OEM networking equipment (e.g. Cisco, Juniper, etc.).

As a Networking Sales Specialist you will be assigned to specific territory-based opportunities where they must possess the sales expertise required to conduct all phases of the sales cycle. Technical solutioning and pre-sales technical resource is available to assist in this. For assigned opportunities, they are responsible for closing the sale and positively influencing customer satisfaction with respect to the engagement and IBM offerings. You will have a deep understanding of key sales processes, techniques (e.g. CVM) and tools in the discipline, which include, but are not limited to opportunity management using Sales Connect, territory management, customer presentations, proposal development using the appropriate Sales and other Intellectual Capital available for the opportunity.


Required Professional and Technical Expertise
  • Experience selling complex Networking and Communications solutions (more than 5 years).
  • Technical knowledge on Networking Solutions, Network Security and strategic vendors (Cisco, Juniper, F5, Riverbed, vmWare, Nokia, Fortinet, PaloAlto, etc). CCNP certification required.
  • Knowledge on key IT trends and landscape: Cloud, Internet of Things, Security.
  • Sound knowledge on key Networking technologies (SDN, SD-WAN, NFV, Network Security, Unified Communications).


Preferred Professional and Technical Expertise
  • Other major vendor certifications valuable (Cisco, Juniper, F5, Riverbed, vmWare, etc).
  • Knowledge on system virtualization technologies (vSphere, Hyper-V, KVM, etc), Cloud landscape and Security.
  • Relationships with Networking vendors and providers.
