Responsibilities include initiating, planning, executing, and controlling packaging projects to deliver departmental strategic objectives. The Packaging Engineer will also participate in cross-functional teams to support new product introductions. Major tasks in this assignment include development of standard operating procedures, definition of packaging quality protocol, and conducting risk assessments to guide business decisions. As a subject matter expert in packaging, this position will also be required to support daily business transactions to resolve packaging deficiencies. The Packaging Engineer will report directly to the Manager of Packaging.\u003Cbr /\u003E \u003Cbr /\u003E \u003Cstrong\u003EMAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:\u003Cbr /\u003E \u003C/strong\u003E\u003Cul\u003E\u003Cli\u003EProvide packaging support for merchant driven new product introductions.\u003C/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EIdentify, plan, execute, and control packaging projects to deliver strategic business needs for growth, productivity, and quality.\u003C/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EAdvise and consult on packaging best practices to enhance business performance. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.\u003Cbr /\u003E \u003Cstrong\u003E\u003C/strong\u003E\u003Cbr /\u003E \u003Cstrong\u003EPreferred Qualifications:\u003Cbr /\u003E \u003C/strong\u003E\u003Cbr /\u003E Bachelors degree in packaging engineering \u003Cbr /\u003E Desire advanced certifications (Project Management Professional, 6 Sigma, or (Certified Packaging Professional)\u003Cbr /\u003E \u003Cbr /\u003E \u003Cstrong\u003EKnowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:\u003Cbr /\u003E \u003Cbr /\u003E \u003C/strong\u003EKnowledge and experience with packaging physical property test and inspection. \u003Cbr /\u003E Experience providing packaging support for consumer new product development \u003Cbr /\u003E Excellent communication skills required. Need to clearly articulate packaging and process concepts to business community through written and oral presentations. \u003Cbr /\u003E Engineering standards development / review / enforcement \u003Cbr /\u003E Computer skills sufficient to retrieve, manipulate, analyze, interpret, and present data\u003C/div\u003E
