Are you eager to make an impact on one of the most important and underserved issues in the US healthcare system? Naviguard, a fully owned UnitedHealth Group Ventures company, is on a mission to protect patients from surprise bills by building a revolutionary consumer protection business. This new business will be dedicated to helping patients understand and mitigate the unexpected financial risks they face. As an employee of this new business, you can expect to be a part of a dynamic organization that is fast-paced and driven by our vision to promote healthcare affordability and accountability nationwide

As a Patient Senior Advisor, you will be supporting a new business build from the ground up for the next several years. In this role you will support the daily activities of the business by supporting consumers with complex issues and high dollar claims; and leveraging your experience in supporting newer Advisors through mentoring and training support. This position requires a motivated self-starter with a blend customer service experience, process knowledge, and strong analytical, and communication skills.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Engage directly with consumers to provide support and guidance on complex claim issues (high dollar or escalated cases), gather appropriate information, and maintain ongoing communications with consumers until the identified issue has been resolved

  • Provide mentoring support for new Advisors released from new hire training

  • Research complex billing and claims issues across multiple systems, identify and complete root cause analysis, and partner with internal and external support resources to drive resolution

  • Gain a deep familiarity with all topics on the consumer website in order to coach consumers on out-of-network provider interactions

  • Effectively identify solutions and communicate next steps with relevant parties to resolve consumer issues

  • Work closely with UHC teams to identify and resolve claims processing errors or other issues as needed

  • Help define successful consumer interactions, communications, and measurement in support of a growing business

  • Assist in user acceptance testing for system enhancements and new technology launches

  • Provide subject matter expertise in process flow reviews and job aid creation

You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.
