The Pediatric Clinical Director (MD) will work within the Pfizer Pediatric Center of Excellence (PedCoE) to provide pediatric leadership and expert clinical and medical input across Global Product Development (GPD). The incumbent will provide:

Strategic pediatric clinical and medical subject matter expertise

Support asset teams and represent Pfizer with regulatory authorities, as needed for pediatric matters

Clinical oversight to targeted Pfizer-sponsored trials, clinical research collaborations (CRCs), and investigator initiated studies (IISs) when needed to support the business

Clinical & medical support to other GPD colleagues as necessary

Pediatric medical SME input into GPD Governance in conjunction with PedCoE Global Lead

Maintain and leverage the PedCoE Network of children's hospitals and research sites

Represent Pfizer pediatric research and be a voice for children at internal or external meetings and Global Product Development at external speaking opportunities

Liaise directly with senior Pfizer leaders (e.g., CSOs, CDOs, etc.) on specific projects/issues

Provide Leadership and strategic customer focus in the external global environment, including representing Pfizer with C-suite leadership at major PedCoE Network sites

The incumbent will be expected to maintain pediatric expertise across the clinical, regulatory, legislative and development domains.

The Pediatric Clinical Director (MD) will also have significant medical leadership and representation responsibilities within the PedCoE team and across the enterprise with additional responsibilities that include, but are not limited to, partnering with the Global Lead for expansion of the PedCoE, and representing PedCoE in enterprise-wide internal work streams/projects and Pfizer in external high-impact collaborations and partnerships.

Assist Global Lead and other colleagues in providing leadership within the PedCoE:

+ Ensure coordination and communication of pediatric efforts across enterprise

+ Provide clinical & medical insights and expertise to BUs, and platform functions

+ Support and provide input to governance that embed PedCoE work at early stage of product and study development

Provide subject matter expertise and customer-focused contact for internal stakeholders:

+ Asset pediatric clinical trial support as point of contact for several asset teams

+ Maintain PedCoE managed network strategic medical relationships

+ Leverage PedCoE managed network to support pediatric trial site selection

+ Recommendations for pediatric HCPs for other regional medical needs

+ Pediatric clinical & medical SME support to internal business strategy development

+ Pediatric clinical & medical SME support into other areas of Pfizer as needed (formulation, Global Clinical Supply, etc); consistently seek out additional areas at Pfizer where pediatric knowledge and collaboration can take place.

+ Pediatric clinical & medical SME support to internal work streams and working groups

+ Foster collaboration between pediatric study teams by sharing best practices and connecting colleagues

Provide leadership and strategic customer focus in the external environment

+ Manage relationships with major children's health care centers, networks and pediatric leaders (PedCoE Managed Network) across the globe through credible pediatric medical exchange

+ Serve as formal, organized face of GPD in the pediatric community

+ As dictated by the business need, represent Pfizer in major, high-impact external pediatric collaborations and alliances

Maintain pediatric medical expertise across clinical, regulatory, legislative and development domains

+ Maintain expert knowledge base of clinical, regulatory, legislative and operational aspects of biopharmaceutical development in children

+ Proactively identify and advise Pfizer colleagues on best practices, innovative solutions, and collaboration from knowledge in this area.

+ Required

+ MD; general pediatrician/pediatric subspecialist with extensive industry experience; non-pediatric specialties will be considered based on documented extensive experience in pediatric research

+ 10+ years pharmaceutical experience, including pediatric clinical trials, medical affairs, and relationship management

+ Demonstrated ability to manage relationships with thought leaders, investigators, and internal colleagues

+ Demonstrated internal leadership across a broad organizational enterprise

+ Demonstrated external leadership in global/national organizations, societies, projects and collaborations

+ Excellent written, oral and presentation skills

+ Ability to work with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders and to lead by influence

+ Ability to thrive professionally in a field-based working environment

+ Preferred

+ Pediatric oncologist or general pediatrician/pediatric subspecialist with extensive industry experience in pediatric oncology

+ Highly motivated with demonstrated track record of high performance and production of outstanding results

+ Ability to facilitate open discussion among key stakeholders and build internal and external relationships through partnering, anticipating needs and fulfilling expectations

+ Very strong strategic skills including creativity and effectiveness in proactively identifying and addressing challenges and solutions

+ Ability to travel (domestic and international) up to 10%
