**Pharmacist / chemist (m / f / d) as Head of Product and Process Analytics at our Pfizer Freiburg site**



The Department of Product & Process Development (PPD) Freiburg is responsible for the technical transfer of innovative new solid drug forms from research, the supply of clinical samples, the late phase development up to approval including the transfer to the production environment, and the initial support of new products during the transition to the commercial phase of the product life cycle.



In the function as head of PPD Analytical Services, your area of responsibility includes the development and application of physico-chemical and classic pharmaceutical analytical methods, the development and implementation of processes and models of Process Analytical Technology (PAT), registration stability studies, and related compliance and regulatory activities in Freiburg.



**This is part of your job:**

Technical and disciplinary management of the PPD Analytical Services department

Development, optimization, validation and transfer of analytical methods for solid drugs

Development and implementation of analytical techniques and models for process control with new innovative processes for classic batch processes and for new platform technologies, especially fully continuous manufacturing processes

Planning, development and coordination of PAT activities and investments in the area of PAT-controlled, fully continuous manufacturing processes

Analytical support for scale-up, process optimization and technical transfer of new products, including stability testing

Release testing of raw materials, intermediates and bulk medicinal products for clinical trials in phases I-III and IV, for technical development and for registration purposes

Participation in the development of quality control and regulatory strategies and assurance of GMP compliance through to the support of pre-approval inspections

Management of budget, capital investments and number of employees within the area of responsibility



**Your skills:**



A degree in chemistry, pharmacy or a related scientific discipline, doctorate desirable

Several years of experience in the pharmaceutical development of analytical methods, PAT applications or quality control, including experience in cross-functional teams for the development of new or marketed products

Experience in project management and experience in the technical development of drugs are strongly preferred



Extensive knowledge of current global GMP regulations and country-specific drug law as well as regulatory requirements

Very good spoken and written English and fluent German skills

The competence to build, maintain and use sustainable relationships in a global environment with complex and rapidly changing structures and partners and to leverage them for the benefit of the location

The ability to get to the heart of complex issues and convince others of your ideas

Pronounced managerial qualities and leadership skills
