**Role Summary:**

This position is responsible for designing and performing complex pharmacology and toxicology studies. She/he will provide scientific guidance to project teams and across multiple partner lines in drug discovery and development. Ideal candidate will be able to act independently and collaboratively, with the potential to take on additional responsibility, including project team leadership and managing direct reports. Unique hands-on position with ability to contribute to the IND enabling process. Reports to the Vice President of Pharmacology and Toxicology.


+ Will conduct routine research in pharmacology and toxicology for use in Pfizer-Array projects.

+ Will conduct animal handling and restraint, compound dosing, inoculation and blood and tissue sampling.

+ Small animal surgical techniques, necropsy procedures, physiological monitoring, efficacy and pharmacodynamic assessments in various small animal models of human disease.

+ Design and monitor IND-enabling GLP toxicology studies and preparation of nonclinical regulatory submissions, integration of the data for the pharmacology and toxicology sections of the IND

+ Project team participation and opportunities for project team leadership


+ PhD with 7-10+ years / MS with 15+ years research experience in the pharmaceutical industry.

+ Extensive in vivo pharmacology and toxicology expertise required; specifically, for oncology-related drug development programs

+ Standard in vivo pharmacology testing skills are required

+ Experience in designing and performing a variety efficacy, pharmacodynamic and non-GLP toxicology studies, data collection, analysis and interpretation are required

+ Experience in designing and monitoring IND-enabling GLP toxicology studies and preparing nonclinical regulatory submissions is required

+ Candidates should possess excellent communication skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

+ Demonstrated ability to work independently

+ Ability to communicate effectively, both written and oral
