The pharmacy technician, under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, assists in the various activities of the pharmacy department. Duties include: preparing, dispensing, and distributing medications; maintaining patient records; setting up, packaging, and labeling medication doses. This position also includes some stocking and inventory management of medications. Technicians must function in strict accordance with standard, written procedures and guidelines and state regulatory requirements. Demonstrates Service Excellence at all times. Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

High School Graduate/Equivalent_____________________

Registered in State of Florida as Technician

Technical School/1 year College

Must have at least 2 years of Pharmacy Technician hospital experience or equivalent work experience

Associates Degree

Basic knowledge of medications (i.e.: generic and brand names) required.

3 years hospital experience

Must have National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT)

Effective oral and written communication skills and an aptitude for working with other health care professionals.

Must have effective interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrated customer service orientation, ability to work effectively in a team and as an independent contributor, perform basic mathematical calculations and multitask effectively. Must have basic computer skills.
