Plant Reliability Engineer
Responsibilities The Plant Reliability Engineer is responsible for reviewing equipment failures and Root Cause Analysis 9RCA) to determine corrective actions to prevent failures and to protect against reoccurrence. Develop preventive inspections, preventive maintenance checklists, and maintenance instructions. Complete RCA process on any downtime event over 2 hours Perform periodic review of recurring issues and tasks related to production equipment to propose process improvements, aimed at reduction of the maintenance cost and unplanned stoppages. Develop and implement site strategy for controls technicians direct reports Provide assistance for engineering/projects and independently execute small maintenance-related projects. Provide maintenance perspective support to internal and external inspections/audits. Participate in complex troubleshooting assisting Maintenance Technicians to ensure adequate equipment performance for production equipment.. Evaluates, reviews, develops, and administers effective preventive and predictive maintenance (PPM) within the CMMS to support optimal machine performance. Specify repair techniques for major repetitive tasks such as component replacement, develop standard specifying end product and resources needed for given tasks. Ensure that accurate, up to date spare parts list are available for existing equipment while specifying standardization of components used in repairs. Also ensure spare parts list are provided for all new installations, as well as review component specifications to identify compatible replacement parts. Identify training required to improve craft skill levels or repair techniques based upon data and field observations. Coordinate repairs or overhaul of equipment performed by outside contractors. Identify and develop predictive technologies and source necessary equipment necessary to carry out activities to increase equipment availability. Qualifications Bachelors Degree in Engineering Minimum 5 years maintenance and reliability, production management, engineering or operations experience Advanced computer skills, with emphasis on condition monitoring software/techniques Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge and aptitude Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance programs and the tools associated with failure detection, as well as the software associated with them Extensive and relevant reliability management experience Continuous improvement tools Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) Covid-19 vaccination may be a condition of employment dependent on role and location.
