Principal, Advanced Marketing Analytics

AT&T is looking for a talented, highly motivated individual with strong data analysis skills and strategic thinking to join the Marketing Technology & Advanced Analytics organization. We use advanced skills in trend analysis, root cause analysis and other techniques to leverage data from internal and external sources to explain or predict behavior, solve a variety of business problems, and monetize products for sale. One of the most important aspects of this position is to take very large quantities of customer data and analytic results and condense it down into a coherent story with clear, easy to follow conclusions, implications informed by knowledge of the business, and actionable recommendations. We are looking for a talented, highly motivated individual with extensive hands-on analytics experience, leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, a broad knowledge of math, statistics and business, and exceptional strategic thinking to join our Analytics organization.


**You are the person who gives meaning to the data.**


You are the type of person who can identify the "why" or "so what" from data distilled from various sources. You can demonstrate your extensive experience doing hands-on analysis and strategic thinking, manipulate large datasets to summarize the data into insights, lead other analysts in project work, be a strategic collaborator with cross functional business partners and communicate your findings and recommendations to leadership.


**Key areas of focus include:**


+ Gather, analyze, and interpret a wide variety of data to identify causal relationships, trigger points, and predictions on customer sales behavior, subscriber churn, and product engagement for our Wireless product.

+ Projects include customer behavior and base segmentation, sales/retention analysis, campaign optimization, lifecycle analytics, and data visualization.

+ Develop self-service data tools, and other visual aids in support of findings.

+ Partner with cross functional teams to drive strategic change within the business

+ Ensure meaningful client value is delivered through a mix of data analyses, insights, skills capabilities and original thinking.


This role is located in El Segundo, CA; other locations may be considered.


**Skills needed to be successful:**


+ 8-10 years of experience in data analytics or related field

+ BS/BA in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or related fields

+ Coding proficiency in SQL, or similar required

+ Experience with large transactional databases

+ Must possess a solid understanding of basic statistics and consumer marketing


**Preferred:**


+ Advanced degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or related fields

+ Experience in large media, technology, ecommerce, or other subscription-based company

+ Tableau experience
