- Research, analyze, and report on oncology-related innovation opportunities
- Participate in developing a multi-year research program which aims to improve health through innovative research, technology, service delivery, and data analytics
- Act as liaison between the company's scientific leadership and research teams
- Recommend, co-design, and lead specific long- and short-term research initiatives
- Work with statisticians in the analysis and interpretation of data
- Mentor and learn from other researchers in conceptual analysis and data analysis
- Ensure completion of projects on time and at high quality
- Design and give feedback on research protocols or pilot plans
- Review experimental designs, statistical analyses, and provide critical thinking
- Facilitate a collaborative team environment and model good communication
- Ensure compliance with IRB requirements and ethical standards for research/practice
- Remain current with developments in the field and relevant literature
- Build relationships with people in the company, your field, and the healthcare system at large
- Doctoral degree in health services research, health economics, economics, public policy, population health, epidemiology, statistics, psychology, social science, pharmacy, nursing or closely-related field
- 2+ years of outcomes research in oncology and/or program management experience for oncology-specific initiatives
- Solid written and oral communications skills
- Ability to analyze scientific literature and research data and synthesize and write key findings, understand potential impact to the health care industry, and generate defensible research/business ideas
- You will be asked to perform this role in an office setting or other company location.
- Employees are required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or a similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener prior to entering the work site each day, in order to keep our work sites safe. Employees must comply with any state and local masking orders. In addition, when in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are expected to wear a mask in areas where physical distancing cannot be attained.
